Oh dear š As you know, we are not qualified to give veterinary advice, since we are not vets.Ā Many vets will treat with Panacur on suspicion only, because E C tests are still not very reliable and can produce false negatives. I have never treated a bun with Panacur for suspected EC, but I do keep it in my rabbit first aid drawer.
I will alert…[Read more]

There are absolutely intact female rabbits that live long lives without getting uterine cancer. I too get annoyed that so many veterinary clinicĀ web sites state varying degrees of risk (one in 25 does at age 2, 40% at age 3-4, 80% at age 6 and so on), without stating the source of this intel. We will try and find better info for you, because…[Read more]

Hi there,
I’m new to the binkybunny community! I wanted to share since I noticed that I didn’t see anyone on here with the same circumstance āĀ a well behaved free roamĀ female bun who is not spayed.
When I brought Harps home, I was sure that I would spay her. Seeing all of the bad traits bunnies could have, and hearing the tall tails of spa…[Read more]

So I decided to create this account for two reasons. Firstly,Ā I love that there is an active community of bun owners. Power to us! Secondly, my girl Harper is not spayed and she is a lovely bun. I had some minor issues with her pissing on my bed (maybe 10 times) when she was younger but she has since out grown the rebellious teenage stage. She’s…[Read more]

If they are wart-like growths, then they are probably papillomas. Ears are not an uncommon place for them. If they are indeed papillomas, there isn’t much you can do for them at home. Many of them will resolve on their own. Some will not though. A vet can surgically remove them. If you encounter something red, swollen, bleeding, irritated, etc.…[Read more]

Has anyone had anything similar to this before?Ā I noticed a day ago that my bun had two areas on his mid-back near his spine, almost symmetrical to each other along the spine, that have thinner hair, almost “balding” in that area (picture attached of one of them).Ā I don’t see any dandruff, redness or flakiness though.Ā I also looked at the sp…[Read more]

Hey! Ollie is continuing to regain strength since his apparent stroke a 10ish days Ā ago.
Today he had an episode where he had similar issues. He had diarrhea (never had before) and wouldnāt stop shaking his head trying to scratch his ears. He ran around like crazy rolling and crashing into everything with his legs flying out from under him(on ca…[Read more]

They are actually like a wort.Ā They start small, grow into a calloused wort, raised above the skin when bigger.Ā They are not like scales. Ears are clean and smell clean too.

DanaNM replied to the topic How much open floor space? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 1 month ago
It’s recommended to have the primary living space (where the bun spends most of it’s time) be at least 12 square feet, plus an additional 50 sq feet (minimum) for exercise space at least 4 hours a day. More space for more time is even better.
Rabbits need room to run at full speed at least some of the day to live happy and healthy lives. The idea…[Read more]

Hi everyone,
I have a question.
How much open floor space does a 4 lb Holland Lop rabbit need? I thought it was like 25 sq feet (xpen + large dog crate).
Can a rabbit this size live in a tall cage with levels?
And if not, please give reasons why.
Thank you!

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Rabbit ate Tiny Glass Shard in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 1 month ago
If it was a tiny shard, even taking to the emergency vet probably won’t do much good since they wouldn’t be able to really find it. On the plus side, rabbits are really good at grinding things down before they swallow them, so there’s a chance it’ll just come out as usual.
I would continue to monitor and if you see anything change, such as signs…[Read more]

Hi all,
Sorry for no introduction but I have a rabbit named Pepsi and tonight she knocked over her treat jar and decided to eat treats as well as possibly a piece of glass.
While I know she ate some treats, I also am afraid she ate a shard of glass as she was chewing loudly and it wasn’t like normal. She did not let me grab it out of her mouth…[Read more]

Are these flat scales on the edge of the ears? Or are they like mounds? Do they have a wart-like appearance?

Unsure what they are. Not mites. Not flees.
I think they appear if her ears are exposed to water???
She is upstanding ears.
They appear anywhere on ear. Feel like a rock type callous.Ā They don’t scratch off.Ā They can grow and get bigger.
What do I put on them?? So they heal?
Thanks.
