Hmmmm, how suddenly did this start, and how long ago was her spay?
I’m always suspicious that any behavior change could be a health issue. Pain can make buns more timid. But then females have some crazy hormone fluctuations after spaying, so she could just be going through some moody periods if her spay was within the last couple months.

Hi all,
This is going to be long-winded, so I apologize in advance! I need your thoughts on the potential bonding of a trio. I have been toying with the idea of bonding a trio ever since I brought Hazel and Lola home. I recently took my senior rabbit, Honey Bunny, to the vet for his annual exam and bloodwork and he has a clean bill of health. I…[Read more]

Runny poops are alarming (especially along with lethargy), agree with Bam that you should get her to the vet right away. Communicate with them that this is an emergency so they get you seen soon.
You can also syringe her some water in the meantime. My first thought was coccidea, so bring a poop sample with you to the vet. It’s a parasite that…[Read more]

I feel like she’s also become quite the lazy rabbit. Just flops all day.

Hmm, that’s interesting. 😕 Smokey isn’t quite the fireball she was before her spay either. She and Silver were always competing for dominance (so glad they stopped!) Hopefully, you find an answer! Sorry if this isn’t a satisfying response.

Yeah, she never used to care if you sat next to her while eating, i even used to eat my lunch with her. After her spay she seems to do this.

LOL! Nice one. 😆 OB does this too, working off the extra calories, eh? 😉 Could be their instincts, it really varies based on their moods. Did she just start doing this to you? OB’s been doing it for a while, but she is my timid bun. 🙂 Maybe it’s just that she is a little shy?

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Pee pad smell in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years ago
Adding a tiny bit of apple cider vinegar into your rabbit’s water source can help nullify that urine’s smell generally.
Also, unsure if you’re using reusable pads or not, but if you are (which I recommend to reduce trash production), you can keep soiled ones in a cloth-diaper laundry bag, as you mention. I’ve had one for almost 3 years now since…[Read more]

@Hazel: No change after a week. Seizures still happening on a 48-72 hours basis, with no specific time. Some times morning, sometimes at night. They last 2 minutes each time.  I’m tracking the time and duration of them.  Done my best to try and see if there’s any kind of environmental cause, but there isn’t. Loki has no ill effects, so it’s g…[Read more]

@LBJ, it’s a crapshoot, basically. The anti seizure meds will of course, damage her liver over time, but she’s an old lady bun now, so….I’m just committing to giving her the best life I can while she’s around. Seizures aside, she’s the same little Ninja Assassin she’s always been.

I don’t know if this is weird or normal but lately Starlight refuses to eat if I’m sitting near her and if she sees me she stops, runs to the other side of her pen and flops. Maybe its stagefright?

I have  done a few more dates in the tube lasting about 30 minutes. The male groomed the female once but hadn’t since. He’s flopped and laid down my her the last two dates. I want to switch the setting to my office so they can be together longer but not sure if that is a good idea since I’ll be working. They have never had a fight. But they do kee…[Read more]

It seems she’s having stomach trouble. If you have simethicone baby gas drops, give her 1 ml of that for starters. When a bun gets tummy trouble, gas will ensue as a consequence, and that is very painful for a bun. Gas drops help the gas escape. You can help by elevating her butt slightly, after you’ve given the gas drops. The fact that her bind…[Read more]

Hi! I was wondering if you were able to find a good rabbit vet in the Tyler area. I’ve recently moved and need to see a vet. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks!

Keep an eye, if it is mites it will likely get worse and you’ll see dandruff-like flakes. Many buns are not bothered by mites and they are easy to get rid of with Revolution (selamectin).
And since we’re on the subject of anti parasitics, here’s a public message that we always issue: Never use any compound containing fipronil on a bun. Fipronil…[Read more]
