He sounds like a fun little guy! Don’t worry about spoiling him, there’s no way to have a rabbit and not spoil it. πΒ He’s adorable, I love his markings!

It’s not recommended, as the others have said. It’s a recipe for disaster in my opinion. Agree with Wick on the x-pen. π
Don’t mind HipHop’s bossy post, she always comes in way too hot. π π

Thanks Bam for the detailed response!!
I did see that video and was able to test Snowball’s thermometer twice yesterday to test his baseline πΒ It was also a good reminder to clean his bum a bit more often too π
IΒ don’t expect to be able to diagnose the problem if he has a high or low temperature (I’m still very much a bunny amateur) but I j…[Read more]

Hazel replied to the topic Is it normal after being spayed? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years ago
As Dana said, she shouldn’t be jumping at all right now. If you let her jump on and off the couch she’s likely to bust her stitches or worse. She won’t like it but you have to restrict her movement or you’re going to end up back at the vet.

Hi there,
Sorry if I am not following, but it is important to restrict her space and prevent her from jumping up on things while her spay heals. Most vets will have buns on cage rest for 10-14 days after spaying.
It is important that she eats. I don’t quite follow from your post whether she is eating on her own, but if she isn’t, you need to…[Read more]

I would also recommend against walking a rabbit outdoors. A rabbit will not “walk” like a dog and variables of loud noises, sudden smells, predators, cars, etc.. can send the rabbit jolting one way or the other. Dogs are pack animals that naturally follow a pack leader. Rabbits do not function that way, so the concept of a “walk” and how to do it…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic How do I store hay? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years ago
Hmmm I have no idea where to get a pallet. Maybe ask the farm if they have any to spare? You could also maybe accomplish the same thing with some lengths of 2×4.
If you end up getting more than 1 bale you could stack them. I was also thinking, if the pallet thing isn’t practical, you could stand the bale up on it’s end and lean it against the…[Read more]

It really sounds like you are doing a great job with him! If he’s growing at a good pace I don’t think you need to free feed him pellets. The alfalfa has extra protein and calcium and it also has lots of good fiber for the tummy and teeth.
It sounds like he’s getting a great diet and a stimulating environment! He certainly won the lottery with…[Read more]
