Wick & Fable replied to the topic Are these veggies safe to feed daily? Alternatives to lettuce for daily feeding? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years ago
The veggie list provided by Dana definitely hits best on your question.
I’ll mention two “quirks” I noticed with my buns, just to show how sometimes there might be weird habits:
- My buns tend to finish their veggies and not walk away from them when I’m with them while eating. I might just be sitting there or nearby, but they tend to finish it…

A purr sounds like they are eating hay, my ladies typically purr when they have flopped. From what I’ve read, chatter is often more spaced out than a purr and a little louder. You’re asking some good questions. π Maybe you could upload a video and we could determine which we think it is?

She looks pretty sleepy when she does it. The fact that she was scratching her mouth kind of worried me. Is the sitting up thing normal? Do your buns do that?

Also how do I know if itβs a chatter not a pur?

Hmmm, what’s her expression when she does it? Is her expression relaxed and sleepy? The part when she loaded, I wouldn’t worry about. My ladies will loaf sometimes too, and just start purring. π

I’m sorry. π₯ (to both Muchelle and Hazel π ) What’s your job? Hopefully, it’s not outside in this humid air. Off-topic, how’s Bubble’s doing? I’ve been thinking about the little guy. π

Okay. Is it normal for her to do it a lot? She got up, ate some hay, came back, loafed and started doing it. She also did it then scratched her mouth and repeated that a few times. Is that normal? She did it sitting up too.

It’s fine to be a first-time bun parent, we all were. π
Oh, their purrs are loud! π 1-2 ft sounds about the accurate distance. π They make the cutest expressions when they purr, too. π
(Of course, I wouldn’t mind seeing a few pictures… π )

Good day, figured I would take the time to say hello and introduce the buns.
Dad & Mom to three bunnies with their own distinct personalities. Bunny parents since Psyron was about 6 months old.

We have a grey Netherland Dwarf named Psyron, who is 7 Β½ years. She used to be so bossy but now relaxed quite a bit.

We have a white fluffy lop bunny…[Read more]

So glad to hear he’s doing better! π
I would still recommend to have some Simethicone on hand. Anytime Oscar has felt poorly one or two doses have turned him around.

Hi guys!
My new girl has been making a sound that I take to be tooth purring. However, Iβve heard people say that they canβt here their rabbit pur unless their ear is right at the bunβs mouth. However I can hear her from a foot or two away. She doesnβt seem to be in any pain but is this a grind not a pur? She does it when sleeping in a loaf an…[Read more]

I would name mine Haggis, after the wrinkly old witch from “Pumpkinhead”. But I guess that only works for girls. Are they both boys?
