Well probably yes she is. Is there anything at all I can use to put her food bowls on? Thanks.

I don’t see much or any clover or alfalfa in the picture. Neither of those are grasses, so they have leaves (they are both legumes). I’m not an agronomy expert but it looks like orchard grass or some other combo of grasses.

It really depends on the bun! Is your bun a big chewer?

I do pine pellets with a nice fluffy hay layer on top so give them something soft to stand on.

The pawing at the mouth is interesting. I also think you mentioned she wasn’t eating lettuce?
I would just keep an eye on things. If you could get a video that would be really helpful.

That’s great. 🙂 As long as he keeps recovering you prob don’t have anything to worry about. Stress alone can cause so many problems in rabbits so that could have been the trigger for sure.

Hi, sorry no one has responded. It could be fur mites, or possibly ringworm. It’s a bit hard to tell from the photo. Fur mites commonly show up in that location. If that’s the case, it’s easy to treat with Revolution (you can get it from your vet).

Alright so an anti-fatigue mat might be too big because they are for kitchens. Does anyone think a bun would chew a silicone mat? Sorry I just want to make sure before I get anything.

borya01 replied to the topic At home sanitary shave? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 12 months ago
Thanks guys. yeah my bun is REALLY really, upset about being handled. She’s friendly but likes to do her own thing, so I try not to disturb her much. I was going to switch the type of pan she’s using again, so was hoping it wouldn’t build up again and one sanitary shave would do it. (When the vet did it, she was totally fine for months, until I…[Read more]

borya01 replied to the topic Can anyone recommend if any of these products are a suitable replacement for hay in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 12 months ago
@AlRyder, and others, thank you so much for the reply. This details info is really useful. About my asthma, yeah, it’s gotten to the point where I just don’t want to risk it sadly. So I’m just giving her condensed cubes at the moment. I bought some of the Oxbow stacks, but they are so expensive I can’t keep doing it. Hoping to get the asthma under…[Read more]

I got some hay from a farm feed store today. Does anyone know what some of this is? They said it’s a mix of a bunch of types like alfalfa and clover. I know they shouldn’t have too much of that but it seems like a lot of it is Timothy too. -

Thanks guys!!! So, lots of loud construction did begin very near our house a couple of months ago, and this was around the time he started getting issues. The vet did mention something about there possibly being a bladder stone, but I don’t know. He also did get a blood test at the vet, and seemed fine. He has no urine scald, I’m still treating it…[Read more]

She kind of does it for a few seconds then stops for a 10/15 seconds and does it again

Also something that would me more comfy for your lionhead’s feet is aspen wood shavings. DO NOT get pine wood shavings, these are really bad for rabbits, but aspen is just fine. I have a lionhead, and aspen is what I use, it works great!! 🙂

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Are these veggies safe to feed daily? Alternatives to lettuce for daily feeding? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 12 months ago
The veggie list provided by Dana definitely hits best on your question.
I’ll mention two “quirks” I noticed with my buns, just to show how sometimes there might be weird habits:
- My buns tend to finish their veggies and not walk away from them when I’m with them while eating. I might just be sitting there or nearby, but they tend to finish it…

A purr sounds like they are eating hay, my ladies typically purr when they have flopped. From what I’ve read, chatter is often more spaced out than a purr and a little louder. You’re asking some good questions. 🙂 Maybe you could upload a video and we could determine which we think it is?

She looks pretty sleepy when she does it. The fact that she was scratching her mouth kind of worried me. Is the sitting up thing normal? Do your buns do that?

Also how do I know if it’s a chatter not a pur?

Hmmm, what’s her expression when she does it? Is her expression relaxed and sleepy? The part when she loaded, I wouldn’t worry about. My ladies will loaf sometimes too, and just start purring. 🙂
