Yes, they aren’t too stressed that they aren’t peeing or pooping! π
Thank you! π Last time I took them back to their x-pens to de-stress. (and so I could clean up Smokey’s mess π )
This time, if nobody pees before it’s done, I plan on doing a 45-60 minutes stress bond session, then putting them all in semi-neutral.
Will keep you posted!

That’s scary, I had no idea that fleas could cause such a big problem. Fleas are usually pretty bad here in the summer, although this year has been better than most. The kitty is fine I take it?
Dawn is lucky she has you to take care of her, I’m sure she enjoys the extra attention. πΒ I’m glad Loki didn’t end up with the same issue.

I haven’t, but you reminded me of @LittlePuffyTail and her late bunny Bindi, who was quite the celebrity here on BB for all his adorable costumes!

I got mine online. If you search “rubber broom” you will find lots of options.

Hmmmm, the change in the last few months is what jumps out to me. Have there been any changes in your household?Β Did this happen to coincide with covid-times and everyone just being home all the time?
The only other thing that seems like it might be a trigger is that he goes traveling with you a lot, and you tend to rearrange fencing sometimes?…[Read more]

If you want to keep working with them after stressing you can put them straight into neutral or semi-neutral (esp if semi-neutral was the sticking point, that might be a good plan).

That sounds very positive. π
What is the neutral space like? Would it be possible to do an overnight or some other longer session there first? It’s also a good idea to try some dates during different times of day. Some buns will get along great all day, then in the evening things get feisty.
If not, the humping doesn’t sound like a huge issue,…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Help! My bunny wonβt pee in her cage! in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 11 months ago
Could you perhaps make a little penned area for her, connected to the cage so as to extend her living quarters? Some buns don’t want to pee too close to their “home”, probably so as not to attract predators into the “burrow”. (This is an instinct, not sth she does by her own conscious choice. )

Update:
Mochi was diagnosed with a heart valve deformation, arrhythmia, and murmur. The vet believes her symptoms are from heart failure. She also had crystals in her urine, we were given meds to keep her happy and comfortable until itβs her time to go.

Our daily routine:
6am: he gets half a handful of nuggets and is “let loose” on the herb garden for 10 minutes or so
Then 7am: he is in our bedroom until my family get up etc, then he is allowed downstairs with the dogs and family.
He is outside with the dogs whenever my family let the dogs outside. He eats plenty of hay and grass everyday. He…[Read more]

It would be helpful to know the “daily routine” and how you and potentially others interact with him day to day. So many rabbit behaviors that owners find unpleasant can be very contextual and shaped by the environment.

We’re literally guessing.Β There’s SO many possible causes, most of whom involve very expensive testing that I can’t afford.Β (Seriously, fully anesthetized MRI?) But the treatments all run in the same direction.
And prior to the start of the seizures, the ONLY thing that changed in her daily life was my daughter brought her kitty with her.Β No…[Read more]

I feel your frustration, some daysvI tell myself ” I have the world’s most picky and spoiled lionhead rabbit” I had to try different brands and cuttings to get it right. Of course then after she got spayed I had to start all over again. Starlights current favorites are APD timithy gold and feedtastic hay and bb oat hay, but who knows….maybe in 6…[Read more]
