Thank you so very much! I am pretty new to bunny care and I just want to make sure we’re doing everything we need to be to make her comfortable after all that trauma. Also good to know she might be a little crazy after the spay! We have no plans to get rid of her and I will continue to work with her until we get there. Patience is a virtue.

I too agree. It was very sweet of your boyfriend to buy treats for your bun though! They are typical junk food for buns, so use only as a rare treat, and only a little bit each time.

My two boys have been doing surprisingly well together. For the last two sessions, Pinky has been nipping Muffin’s butt a bit. But mostly grooming his butt, his head, and his cheeks. Muffin licked Pinky’s ear again today. They groom themselves and lay next to each other too.
I had to add litter boxes yesterday cause they were peeing on top of eac…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Is Glazed Fir safe for rabbits? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 11 months ago
I believe fir wood itself is safe. I think the unknown factor is whatever glaze was used/the process that fir wood went through. If you want to be safe, you can maybe wrap those portions in cardboard or something?

Agreed. They are what I would call “junk food”. It won’t hurt her to eat them (in small amounts), but they certainly aren’t healthy. I would let her finish the box and then move on to healthier treat options. 🙂

Thank you for saving her. 🙂
I would first like to say, her living conditions with you sound great! 😀
For the aggression – my suspicions are, she is this way because of her past treatment. She must have needed to defend herself from the dog, or the humans, or at least in her mind. 🙁 It isn’t a personality trait, I wouldn’t ever classify a…[Read more]

Oh, I am so, so, so, sorry! 😥
Please don’t blame yourself! You did all that you could for her, you helped her through those troubling times. Alas, nature takes its course, in the most unfair ways, it seems sometimes. Know though, that she is watching over you, and guiding you through the journey that you set out here to accomplish. She isn’t…[Read more]

BunnyLuv replied to the topic Mats to go beneath pen and protect floor? in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 5 years, 11 months ago
Has anyone used the puzzle foam mats that look like wood floor? I am really interested in getting them if they are a good option. My bunny (Buddy) is currently on cement floor in the basement. I am wanting to get him something softer to run and lay on. I want to make sure that they going to be helpful and good. I am super nervous about soar hocks.…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Brushing Your Bunny in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 11 months ago
It’s very good to brush your bun! It’s difficult to say what brush you should choose- I have a long-haired bun, I use a small slicker brush with him. Furminators tend to be too harsh on a bun’s delicate skin. Some people use a grooming mitt. There’s also the HairBuster comb.
For a smooth-haired bun I recommend lint rolling after brushing. The…[Read more]

My new 9 week old Holland Lop (Buddy) is shedding. He is a very smooth haired bunny. It’s not coming off in big clumps but everytime I hold him my shirt is covered in hair. I think it would be good to brush him. What is the best brush for him? And is there anything wrong with brushing him at least once a week if not more? (I looked in the Grooming…[Read more]

About 6 months ago we acquired a bunny from a coworker who free roamed in a house with a dog she seems to have some aggression towards humans sometimes and then other times she’s very loving she wasn’t spayed when we got her so we got her spayed recently and I can’t tell if her aggression is a learned behavior or part of a personality trait that…[Read more]

I had 2 rabbits which were unspayed ( we don’t have much vets here & rabbit savvy vets are nowhere to find ) . One of those 2 passed away 6 months back due to statis. The other day I brought home 2 bunnies , but they were kept separately as they are little ones . I took care of my other rabbit who lost her company, it was doing fine. Eating…[Read more]
