She’s three months old, right on the line between baby and adolescent so you’re bound to see some behavioral changes (big and small). Babies pretty much love anyone and anything, which is why she was more loving towards you at first. As a teenager she will be a hormonal mess, and likely fluctuate between wanting attention and ignoring you or even…[Read more]

@LB, sorry, I thought Panacur was an antibiotic. Monday I’m calling the doc and requesting Panacur. It may be until next month until I can afford it. This Covid crisis has mucked up my income, like it has everyone. Any idea how much it is? Because this antibiotic is running me $68 a month.

I wanted to start by saying we are seeing rabbit specialist vet but the problems are persisting and I’m worried so I wanted to seek other advice also.
I have a young velveteen. He was born 4/11/20. I brought him home at about 10 weeks. At 12 weeks I had him vaccinated for RHDV2. At that appointment the dr said he may have an ear infection and…[Read more] -

I’m so so sorry for your loss. 🙁 I have lost two bunnies very dramatically in front of my eyes, and it is so traumatizing. After I lost Bunston, his death was all I would see when I closed my eyes for months.
But I did get past it, and eventually started remembering the good things and not the painful things. It is very normal to feel guilt,…[Read more]

I understand! Yes a break might be nice then, especially before leading into marathoning.
In any case, if it doesn’t logistically make sense to start in one area then move, you could always just try to start in the new room and see how it goes.

Moonlightbunny66 replied to the topic How to get bunny in carrier? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 11 months ago
Thank you DanaNM. Yeah, it makes me sad to put them in the carriers so much right now. But at least they’re becoming friends.

Thank you DanaNM. That sounds like a good idea but also means the bunnies might have to go in the carriers three times. I’ve been using Muffin’s x pen for the bonding and it’s so difficult to collapse then move and set up… those things are so heavy!
Maybe I should take a day off tomorrow. It really has been exhausting. I’ve been getting delirious lol.

Lol after I got him off my bed he went over and drank some water. Thanks! He is so wild. It was so hard to get him off cause I didn’t want to pick him up.

That’s awesome!
Haha I know the feeling. What if you start off in the neutral space (for maybe an hour or so), then move to the room? If they do good in the new room, just keep pushing on through? If they start scuffling right away, you will prob want to just do shorter sessions in semi-neutral, or go back to neutral for longer.

If it was just a little I’m sure he will be fine. Might be good to give him some extra wet greens to help balance out the sodium.

Pinky jumped up on my bed and bit a wooden dish that had soy sauce in it and got a bit in his mouth. I don’t feel like this will harm him but does anyone know? Crazy bunny…

Thank you so much DanaNM! I’ll use your advice. I did about 6 hours today in the neutral space with no fights. I checked on them several times. My dad was working in there most of the day today and told me they were good. 🙂
Should I do the pen with towels in my room tomorrow or do a 24 or 48 hour session in the neutral space first? I’m so tired lol.

Yep, it’s not unusual for babies to produce extras and not eat them. And yes, if they are somewhere they will get stepped on then they will get stepped on and they will make a mess. LOL

A slight aside, as I think Dana covered everything I would have mentioned: the water bowl that you’re using. I have the same one, as one of my rabbits drinks a ton of water. Be sure to clean that very regularly, as it gets build up quickly. All three parts (the bottle, the black screw attachment, and the basin). I have a toothbrush at my kitchen…[Read more]

This makes sense. EC symptoms will temporarily improve with antibiotics, but it cannot be “cured” with antibiotics. If it’s confirmed EC, then there is no reason to give antibiotics indefinitely. The only way to send the EC into remission is to treat with fenbendazole (Panacur) for 28 days. Antibiotics won’t do that.
The treatment is pretty…[Read more]
