Pinky jumped up on my bed and bit a wooden dish that had soy sauce in it and got a bit in his mouth. I don’t feel like this will harm him but does anyone know? Crazy bunny…

Thank you so much DanaNM! I’ll use your advice. I did about 6 hours today in the neutral space with no fights. I checked on them several times. My dad was working in there most of the day today and told me they were good. 🙂
Should I do the pen with towels in my room tomorrow or do a 24 or 48 hour session in the neutral space first? I’m so tired lol.

Yep, it’s not unusual for babies to produce extras and not eat them. And yes, if they are somewhere they will get stepped on then they will get stepped on and they will make a mess. LOL

A slight aside, as I think Dana covered everything I would have mentioned: the water bowl that you’re using. I have the same one, as one of my rabbits drinks a ton of water. Be sure to clean that very regularly, as it gets build up quickly. All three parts (the bottle, the black screw attachment, and the basin). I have a toothbrush at my kitchen…[Read more]

This makes sense. EC symptoms will temporarily improve with antibiotics, but it cannot be “cured” with antibiotics. If it’s confirmed EC, then there is no reason to give antibiotics indefinitely. The only way to send the EC into remission is to treat with fenbendazole (Panacur) for 28 days. Antibiotics won’t do that.
The treatment is pretty…[Read more]

Hmm… it depends on what the glaze is made out of. I’m not really familiar with it.

Perhaps they meant he has gas… which can lead to GI stasis.

Thank you both for your well wishes <3 I really appreciate it!
prince dorian – I also have heard lots about rabbits doing better in foster homes rather than in vet hospitals, but unfortunately, the shelter wanted to take Snowball in since he had an adopter lined up. I wish I could have fussed over him like I wanted to (and supposedly bunnies d…[Read more]

Side swaps have been going well, I’ve been swapping them every 2 days. They are not trying to nip through the fencing anymore and I’ve been able to leave Bonnie out overnight without it causing squabbling between BJ and Myra. They will often lay near each other on opposite sides of the fence.
Going to do this for another week… then thinking I…[Read more]

Yes it sounds like he is normal and just a baby. Babies can be messy, just like human babies!
Eating the cecotropes is actually a very important part of the rabbit diet, they get certain things from them that they can’t get otherwise. But some young bunnies will not eat them all. I think it’s a combo of getting more pellets (so they produce more…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic How to get bunny in carrier? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 11 months ago
Agree with Hazel, try having them go in and out a lot for food, but not get picked up or trapped in it most of the time. I also am guessing it will get better once you are done bonding and not using the carriers so much.

Ok, latest update, she was seizure free from the 16th of last month. She’s been off the antibiotics for 2 weeks, and was doing fine. This morning, Seizure. So we’re back on the antibiotics, for good, probably. She’s taking 4 ml of Enrofloxacin twice a day for the foreseeable future. Dammit.
