PIPPIN UPDATE…..
Its been a strange day with Pip, we’ve done the cc, water, meds etc throughout the day but there just wasn’t much change in her at all. No moving about. I have a workman coming to do some repairs in the kitchen so thought I’d take Pip down with me as it’s a big room and she might move about a bit, well she did quiet a bit but…[Read more]

I got my new rabbit a week ago and so far everything’s been great, except for the peeing. He’s gotten a lot better at peeing in the litterbox, but sometimes I’ll find pee stains on the rug by my desk or on my sister’s stuffed animals. I took those things out of his room, so those pee problems have been fixed (hopefully). Except earlier today he…[Read more]

😆 They have character!
Things have been going pretty well! I’ve been feeding everyone dinner together, where I’ll just scatter it outside and they get to find it. Sometimes I’ll do breakfast too! 😀 I heard that was a trick to strengthen bonds, hopefully, it helps! 🙂
This weird thing happened today, I left the room briefly while they were…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic My bunny is getting neutered!! I have some questions… in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 10 months ago
Neutering should help. Can you also describe his set-up a bit more or post some pics?
Restricting the space can help get litter box habits in order (which you’ll have to do after his neuter anyway). Some buns also can’t have any soft things or mats around during training as they get confused. One of my buns would pee and poop anywhere there was…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic My bunny is getting neutered!! I have some questions… in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 10 months ago
I always like to mention that there are times that even neutered rabbits will be non-litterbox adherent, dig, chew, etc.. Many of these are natural, rabbit-things to do that are often exacerbated by hormones, so neutering can reduce it, but there are rabbits (like my Wick) who still poop and pee pretty… liberally outside the box. He also still…[Read more]

Thank you for the update, I was getting worried! I’m glad she’s doing well. 🙂
Agree with Wick and Dana about the grooming. When Oscar is shedding I will put him up on top of his cage and pluck everything off. He doesn’t like it, but once it’s done I don’t have to bug him for a while.

Hehe Esther has a wonderful booplesnoot, doesn’t she? Best part is she doesn’t mind when I boop it lol.
I don’t know how he hasn’t been adopted yet, he’s so cute! I was actually thinking that too! He does look a lot like Dorian.
His pen is almost all set up now, we’ll be picking him up on Saturday! I’m getting very excited now lol

I think it’s good to start cementing during the lazy hours, but then be sure it continues on into the evening eventually. But yeah I’ve always done the first really long sessions during the day when everyone is sleepy. Bun Jovi and Bertha were driving me crazy because they would be great all day, then every evening a scuffle would break out.

How was he there so long!? He looks like he could be prince dorian’s son!

Ooh yeah I agree with Wick 100%. My girls don’t like being groomed so during heavy sheds I will just pop them on the table and do a very deep thorough grooming once a week, rather than constantly plucking at them and driving them crazy. Bun Jovi does better with constant short groomings though, because he loves attention so much he doesn’t mind if…[Read more]

Oak tends to upset their stomach (I believe it’s the tannic acid in them), but as LBJ10 said if it was one they will be fine.
I have a bunch of different trees near our house so there are always leaves blowing in and a certain small rabbit always finds them before I have a chance to see it and pick it up… I panicked a lot in the beginning, but…[Read more]

Hehe thanks guys. He’s so stinking cute. 🙂
Nope this lil guy already has a name, Blaze. Like Esther we’ll be keeping it given how long he’s had it for. Great names though! 😀

I don’t know what a cashmere rabbit is (is it a cashmere lop? That’s what came up when I google’d!), but how often are you grooming and is it always necessary? Unless a rabbit is in a molt/shedding, you don’t need to have regularly scheduled grooming sessions (though it’s different for those long-furred breeds).
Positive association can go a long…[Read more]

Thanks for the update!
For grooming, I decided that higher-stress, more grooming single sessions is better than doing shorter and more sessions over time. My Wick, though he is half the size of my Fable, his fur type is longer and more dense, so he sheds a ton in patches. I handpluck him, and during high molt times, it can last up to 45 minutes…[Read more]

Hello,
Three months ago I adopted a mini cashmere rabbit. At first, she was perfectly fine with being groomed, but as she lost her baby fur and her adult fur has grown in she has seemed to dislike her grooming sessions more and more. She has never bitten or scratched me during these sessions but she seems to start shaking and grinding her teeth…[Read more]
