As long as he actually eats the hay, there’s no harm in only feeding hay for a week. But he must eat hay, and a good amount of it. Some buns just stop eating if they only get hay, and if a bunny doesn’t eat, it will lead to stasis and possible liver damage. For those type rabbits its safer to keep feeding a small amount of pellets. The amount of…[Read more]

Thanks DanaNM for the advice! Is there any harm in only feeding hay for a week? Other than him being jealous of Muffin’s food lol. This is what I woke up to today in the bunny pen… It’s weird that there’s wet spots around it. Do you remember my older post of him leaving brown spots on the blankets? -

Hehe he is quite adorable… He’s so baby-like! I don’t know how to explain it, Esther has a very mature (yet still incredibly adorable!) face, but everything about Blaze is so little! His ears, his face, his lil feet… and he hops like a lil baby bun lol! @Wick his nose boop is quite irresistible!

Shoot! Sorry just realized this should have gone under “diet and care”. I’m just gonna leave it so I don’t flood the forum with copies. Sorry bout that!

Hi guys. So Esther is usually out almost all day, but now that Blaze is here, they need to split the out time. Is doing two shifts okay? It would probably be from 7:30AM- 1:30PM then 1:30PM-7:30PM. Are those okay timings? I could potentially have one of the buns out later at night, because 7:30 is just about when I feed them their dinner. What do…[Read more]

@LBJ10 Thank you! And yes but it takes a long time for the flies to get stuck (so I worry about them hurting the buns) and there’s SO MANY but I’ll keep trying them!

Just swooping in to give an update on their lives: They have essentially been resigned roommates for the past several months. They sleep in a split x-pen at night (so they are separated, but share a wall) and they both roam the living room throughout the day. There are occasional instances of chasing that needs to be stopped, but they never have…[Read more]

Digested hay will be more of a brown/yellow. If I’m identifying it right, they’re like tiny flecks…like tiny listerine strips in toothpaste, haha. Except poop colored?
One of my rabbits has very dark poops, but overtime I realized that is her normal. She eats a ton of hay and likewise drinks a lot of water. The poops are definitely not…[Read more]

Ugh, we’re SO CLOSE. It seems like Lizzie wants to be friends again but CJ is nervous because initially Lizzie was bigger and stronger than her and gave her a royal beating when they first started fighting, before they were spayed. Now, Lizzie has been sitting calmly and patiently whenever she and CJ are touching. I don’t think I’ve seen her nip a…[Read more]

Hmm… this is interesting. I’m wondering, since it’s protruding from inside the mouth/cheek, if this is an oral papilloma. It’s hard to tell from the photo. As Dana said, it could be an abscess as well.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Safe bug spray? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 10 months ago
Hi BunnyLass! That spray contains pyrethrin. Although it is considered one of the safest insecticides, adverse reactions have been observed in rabbits. This is why they recommend against using OTC treatments for cats and dogs that contain pyrethrin on rabbits. To answer your question, it would probably be OK if the spray did not come in contact…[Read more]
