Oh gosh! Sorry for never responding Dana! Bun Jovi sounds like an awesome bun! Your post about his smushy-face sleeping killed me! 😆
I’ve got a few pics of him up in the lounge. I can get some more up soon 🙂

Great news! That means he will keep his baby face forever! 😀 Esther won’t be able to resist all that cuteness for long.

Thank you. She does have a scheduled recheck appt for next Tuesday with her vet. He said he wanted to see her again to make sure we are using the right antibiotic.

For oral antibiotics, the general “rule” is you see improvement in 48-72 hours. URIs can be stubborn though. If you don’t see any improvement in a week, it may be that the antibiotic isn’t right for the type of bacteria that are causing the symptoms. You should then contact your vet again. They may tell you to keep up the same antibiotic for…[Read more]

Can anyone advise me about how long it takes to tell if antibiotic is working? She started first dose Monday afternoon and has had 4 doses so far. I know this is really  only day 2 from when she saw vet on Monday. It probably hasn’t had enough time to do much yet.
Charlie was sneezing less yesterday but is sneezing more today and still has so…[Read more]

Four months is very young and few rabbit vets would attempt a spay before the age of at least 5 months. The rabbit’s size and weight is important too.

I’ll be sure and put the poopies she drops around the room in her litter box and if I see her raising her tail or find she is peeing outside box again I’ll move the box to that area.

Charlie is  close to 4 months old. Our vet wants to wait until the first of the year to spay since she is small and we aren’t exactly sure of her age. She was better last night.  She did not pee on us last night and as far as I can tell used the litter box in her room to pee. But there were poopies everywhere in her room this morning. That I can…[Read more]

Oh I see! Well still a good sign that they calmed down and no noses got bitten. 🙂

Oh no she didn’t actually get IN the pen, just past the barrier blocking her from the outside of the pen. The whole interacting was noses through the pen. When he first got here Esther couldn’t even be able to even reach through his pen or she would go nuts trying to bite him, so the bar for being impressed is pretty low lol.
I’m hoping cage…[Read more]

That sounds very positive! It’s prob good that Esther got into Blaze’s pen, and not vice versa. Typically in the wild ancestors of domestic rabbits, the males will allow females into their territories (for obvious reasons!), but females will be more territorial.
I have heard reports of bunnies that are just crazy trying to get to each other, but…[Read more]

That sounds like you have thought things through pretty thoroughly!
The only other concern I think is vet expenses. Bunnies can be very cheap or very expensive, if you end up with a bun that has some chronic issues (such as dental problems, stasis treatment, etc.). Are your parents on board to help with vet care if needed? Often the older…[Read more]

You sound like a responsible owner, considering how much research you are doing, and the precautions you are willing to take! 😉 A lot of the things you described sound wonderful, too! 🙂
About the dogs – I have cats that will sometimes fight or growl at each other; and sometimes my ladies will lift their heads to listen. Or other times there…[Read more]

That’s true, it could’ve been a cecotrope. Today when I woke up of course he had poops in is favourite sleeping spot. They’re still dark, but not as wet and mushy as yesterday morning. I fed him just romaine as his veggies again today. Maybe tomorrow they’ll be even better?
