She’s on subq fluids and pain relief Metacam and gabapentin.
Shes also given infacol but it doesn’t seem to help.
Shes been so dehydrated recently she didn’t stop sleeping. Almost sleeping the clock round.
Is there any electrolyte solution without sugar in that I can safely give her to help? For when the subqs run out?

What treatments is she currently on? Is she back on motility meds? I wonder if a different medication and maybe a protectant (ranitidine) might be helpful?

Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply!
My face is pretty much cleared up now. I will definitely look into eczema being a possible factor. I haven’t experienced/had eczema since I was in elementary and I never had an issue with it like my siblings do. But if it’s possible for it to come and go, I’ll definitely look into that.
I’ll also ma…[Read more] -

I do think moderator Wick has experience with rabbit syphilis. I’ll alert her to this thread.

@Louiethebunny Thank you! He’s a little cutie pie and self proclaimed foodie lol. I appreciate the advice I was only thinking baby as my friends buns just had a litter but if it’s very risky they get alone maybe it’s better to consider an already neutered adult.

@Bu20055 Thank you for the advice! Appa is scheduled to be neutered in December. I was planning on a baby because my friends Holland Lop just had a litter and asked if I’d like a kit and I’m really considering it. However since babies and teens can be a risk then maybe I should reconsider with an older one.

Hi
My account has been temporarily restricted so I’m using this one because my rabbit boo is doing really bad still.
She went into full blown stasis a week ago and is pooing regularly now. But she is having mucus.
I can’t tell the difference between her belly being full if food and her having gas. Can anyone help me. I’m concerned I’m…[Read more]

Has anyone ever had a bun with syphilis that required more than 9 treatments? My girl Alfred’s had 15 shots so far at 300 000u/ml every week and has #16 scheduled for next week. She’s had the symptoms of runny eyes and the white pimples since she came to me in July. She’s not fixed yet since the vet won’t spay her until her std is cleared. I’m…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic $700 for a neuter??? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 10 months ago
In case you were wondering, here is the list of “questions to ask” from HRS (quote from their website):
- Ask how many rabbits are seen at the clinic each week.Ask how many rabbits are spayed or neutered each week.
- Ask whether most of the rabbits are show animals, “stock” animals, or companion animals.
- Ask what kind of a diet the vet…

I am curious about what the vet disagrees about regarding questions about neuters. I think the list of questions originally came from the House Rabbit Society, which is a highly trusted source. Some of the questions might be a bit outdated- nowadays neuters are made routinely and the success rate is very high. There will always be the odd case of…[Read more]

I love the name Appa!! I was actually in a similar situation, so I took advantage of the last few weeks of summer to get Louie a friend and took advantage of the end of summer and online school because it would be way easier to check up on them as their bond is relatively new. Now Louie and Lola have been bonded for nearly 3 months and love each…[Read more]

I think in a lot of cases, buns will be happier with a friend. Any reason in particular why you want a baby bun? You wouldn’t be able to bond them until after they are spayed/neutered, and you won’t really know their personality. If you get an already spayed/neutered adult bun from a rescue, you already know their personality, so you’ll have a bet…[Read more]

If it is eczema, my product wouldn’t help, and I couldn’t find it either unfortunately. I have a friend who has really really bad eczema, all kinds of things cause flares for her, clothing materials, latex, a lot of the ingredients in most makeup. Its gotten better for her in recent years, after some treatments and cutting out certain things. Has…[Read more]

Thank you, I got him some orchard grass hay and some hay cubes. He seemed to really like the cubes and started to eat a bit more hay. Hopefully he’ll eat more and more!
