While Timothy was sleeping on my lap, I realized that his nose was a little yellowish. Did some research and I’m worried if it might be pasteurella infection, or if it’s just staining from his food. His nose has not been runny or wet, but when he sleeps, I do hear some small whistle sounds. I thought it was just him snoring, unless he does have…[Read more]

It looks like it might be fur loss or perhaps something is growing there? Can you describe in detail what you see and how it feels?
Also, this rabbit looks very young. Do you know how old it is?

And LOL Bun Jovi honks SO much, and he sleeps like that too! Where it looks like he just melts to the side.

It very well could have been the cat smell, especially since he is so new in the house. We had a similar thing happen with Myra a few months ago. I left our cat bed near the entrance of their condo because I was moving things around and forgot to put it back, and she was SO spooked at everything . Moved the bed, and she was back to normal. It was…[Read more]

Man that is so stressful. I had a foster that had some horrible gas mucous stasis problems and it was so stressful for all of us. So she is pooping OK but not eating on her own? Are her poops normal aside from the mucous?
Is there a timing you notice with the gas? Like a certain amount of time after eating or a certain time of day?
Has the vet…[Read more]

It hasn’t been documented in NC yet, so at this time no. But it will likely spread throughout the US, so it’s something to pay attention to. Hopefully in the next year the vaccine will become more easily available from your vet. Currently vets can only get approval to import the vaccine if there is a documented case in your state.

My rabbit had the exact thing happen to him before too! What I’m thinking, and this did seem what the problem was for my rabbit, was that Pinky’s GI tract might be a little off-balance. My rabbit is on probiotics right now, and it seems to be helping him a lot. Of course, at this stage that Pinky’s at, it doesn’t seem to be serious enough that he…[Read more]

Lot’s of rabbits run in circles in anticipation of pellets, whether there is one, two or more. It could be that they are both just running in circles and they are forming a line instead of doing it independently. Like double the bunnies, double the excitement.

Pinky has been making a few brown spots a week on the blanket as long as I’ve had him. I was thinking it was from eating cecotropes. I was able to watch him up close while he was eating them and yeah there was brown liquid dripping out. Is this normal? I don’t think this happens with Muffin.

Almost everyday when I’m getting the pellets (looking for the spoon in the bag and making those crinkly plastic noises) the bunnies get super excited. They’ll jump around then start chasing each other’s tails in a little circle. I don’t think there’s any nipping. Is this just excitement? Maybe trying to see if the other bunny has food in their mou…[Read more]
