Do you have someone that can help you? If not, a mirror would probably work. The way we do this at the rescue I volunteer at is one person picks up the bun and holds them so they are upright with their back against your body. One had supports the front end, the other hand under the bum. You can also support the bum on your lap or on a table. Then…[Read more]

Hello everyone! My bun Dunna just got spayed 10 days ago and I’m trying to check her sutures but she is really scared to be picked up and really doesn’t like her tummy touched. I’ve gotten glimpses of the area but I can’t really see to make sure she’s healing properly. Any tips would be appreciated!

Hi! For those of you who have walked your rabbit on a harness, how tightly do you have it on? I know it should be tight enough that it doesn’t turn upside down, but I also don’t want it to be too tight that it cuts into my bun.

Hello Bunny Lovers. How’s all your babies doing. My two babies have been gone for a year now July 4 & Oct. 9 2019. I miss them very much. I still grieve for them. Wish they were here with me again.

Thank you both for your suggestions! I’ll have to bring it up with the lop’s owner once they texts me back. They did mention that there are other families who already showed interest in her rabbit, but they were willing to consider my family mainly because they wanted the lop to go to someone who already has a rabbit. So if we are able to have a…[Read more]

Agree with LBJ10. Their behavior towards each other might also change drastically once your bun is neutered. Litter box habits tend to fly out the window during bonding and pre-bonding, and I imagine this might be even more true when one bun is not neutered yet. So less time having to clean everything would be a good thing in my mind!
That said,…[Read more]

Pine pellets, wood stove pellets, and paper pellets all work well for the litter box. Much cheaper too.

Hmm… it depends on how they will react to each other. They might surprise you and the older rabbit is the one that freaks out over the presence of another rabbit.
You said they would be willing to hold onto the rabbit until January, so that would mean less time in the proposed setup before you attempt to bond them. This might not be a bad idea.…[Read more]

Once you get to know your bun, you’ll better understand what’s normal for them. I was so anxious about EVERYTHING when I first got my bun Esther. After a week or two I calmed down a lot 🙂 . I’m sure she’s just fine, just settling in to her wonderful new home.

Yes I think just keep an eye on things! Lots of bunnies don’t poop too much during the day, but come night time they fill up that litter box. 🙂
