That is slightly on the higher side. My Wick’s were around that, if not slightly lower. Rabbit procedures are generally more expensive, but where you live and that vet practice’s access to resources can heavily impact what price you get there versus if you went somewhere else. If it is a price you feel comfortable with, the next step is ensuring…[Read more]

Hi all, just looking for some advice.
Our mister Dracus is a 1 year old male lionlop who primarily lives in the house – also has a sizable area outside for grazing. He is intact as it stands and not too hormonal; very friendly and not too many territory marking behaviors.
He was the last of his litter so has no bunny friends as it stands and,…[Read more] -

Sounds like she was just nervous from being in a new home. I’m glad everyone was able to reassure you and the poop finally came. 😉

LBJ10 replied to the topic How to get hay out of carpet? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 10 months ago
Oh yes! A rubber broom will work wonders. Use it to “rake” the big pieces of hay into a pile so you can scoop them up and throw them away. Then vacuum the little bits.

Have you checked his scent glands? That could be a possibility too.

I agree with Bam. The symptoms with the back legs “screams” EC. Many vets will treat on suspicion, especially if the symptoms are severe.

I’m not sure if that’s a high price. I was told that my bunny Muffin was starting to develop spurs on his back molars. The estimated price to get that fixed was almost $1000 CAD. They told me it’s not needed right now though. But maybe in the future.
What can I do to help? I give them sticks and wood to chew on but Muffin doesn’t chew them as much…[Read more] -
Moonlightbunny66 replied to the topic My rabbit soaks his chin after he drinks?? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 10 months ago
My bunny Muffin does the same thing. :/ I don’t know if there’s much you can do about it. You can check for scabs and redness though. Muffin had that and got medication from the vet to clear it up. They said it was probably dermatitis. He still has a bald spot from the wetness.
For hay you can mix in some different types to make it more app…[Read more]

I would ask the vet for fenbendazole and metacam, in case this is e cuniculi. Fenbendazole acts on the e cuniculi parasite itself, and metacam is an anti inflammatory (NSAID) that can help bring down the inflammation the ec is causing. Baytril, a broad spectrum antibiotics, has also been shown to have some beneficial effects in e cuniculi…[Read more]
