I wouldn’t be too concerned about the color. Like Bam said, it depends on where and how it was dried. Obviously, if it’s moldy, then you wouldn’t want to use it.

I agree. A shave down there may help him get back on track.

To answer your initial question – No, eating a stillborn kit will not harm her. This isn’t necessarily “normal”, but it does happen occasionally.

I would be more concerned about the contractions and bleeding you are observing. It’s possible there is another baby and it is stuck. You have an appointment for tomorrow, which is good. Hopefully she…[Read more]

    Hi Lu,

Not many members here have experience with baby rabbits or pregnant rabbits since intentional breeding discussion isn’t allowed. You might post on the rabbitsonline.net forum as well, as there are more members there with this type of experience. If the vet has said things are normal, I would just keep any eye on her until you can take her…[Read more]

Hi all, long time forum lurker here and I must say this forum helped me a lot!

Backstory: I rescued a stray bunny 2 weeks ago, there were a bunch outside where I am. After bringing her to the vet, did an xray and the vet palpated her, she was pregnant.

Fast forward to last night, she gave birth to 2 stillborn babies unfortunately. And she…[Read more]

I just wanted to pop in and say I’m sorry @Moonlightbunny66 for all the stuff you’ve had to deal with with your two so soon after getting them 🙁 . You’re doing a really great job with them and they are so lucky to have you as an owner! I hope Muffin’s chin gets better soon and then that’s the last of the buns problems for a long time to come!

Even the rescues near me sometimes don’t get the sexes right when they end up with baby buns, which is why when they plan to keep some of them together, they sex them twice (a few weeks apart).

Haha he’s adorable. I agree with @Moonlightbunny66 or maybe he leaves them with the elephant then wonders why it doesn’t bring them back to him lol

I’m so glad it helped!!! Yes, that is a pain that he won’t let you rub the cream in. Poor bun! Well good luck with everything!

Oh and the vet also cleaned up his chin and I think trimmed the fur a bit.

So cute LOL!! Maybe he’s hoping the elephant will toss some of the toys back to him.

@NoodletheRabbit Yes!! Thank you. Giving him small pieces makes him a lot less drippy. I also watched him and saw that I should avoid giving him the middles of the lettuce that have a lot of water in them. Those were making his chin wet too.

Came home from the vet yesterday with the same meds as last time. Some sulfatrim (oral meds), and I still…[Read more]

Thanks for mentioning the fecal screening! I brought in Pinkys poops to the vet yesterday and they did want to test for parasites. They said the results should come in on Monday. So it’s nice I didn’t have to drive an hour and a half again just to give them the poops. Thanks.

They also told me not to give him any fruits or things high in sug…[Read more]

Coming from a petstore, she’s most likely some sort of mix. As LBJ said, she might have some lop in her, those ears are pretty chunky. She’s adorable! 😀

Also agree with Bu about gender. Don’t have your heart set on her being a girl, bunnies this young are difficult to sex even for breeders or vets, a petstore employee is unlikely to get it…[Read more]
