Agree with the others. He should get a lot better after being neutered. As Dana said, punishment doesn’t work with them, and attempting to assert yourself as “top bun” won’t help because as a human you’re not part of the bunny hierarchy. And even if you were, rabbits assert their dominance via humping and pee/poop wars, I don’t think you would…[Read more]

Awww cute! Thanks guys 😀 I usually just see half binkies from Muffin too! He’s about 5 years old. Pinky is a little under two years old but that was a rare sight from him!

One more thing you can do is make sure he has interesting textured bunny toys. I would give my bunnies a toy when they were clearly in a destructive mood, and they decided they liked those better than the furniture. But that wouldn’t take the place of neutering, though.

Thank you for your kind thoughts. The funny thing about Polly was that she always was a bit delicate health-wise, but she was always bouncing off the walls energetic and playful. I think she packed in a lot of happiness while she lived. I’m trying to keep thinking of the good times.
DJ Cute was with her in the hospital (as a healthy co…[Read more]

I would assume him being unfixed has a lot to do with it. Neutering him would most likely help with a lot of behaviors as many destructive and territorial behaviors (such as the peeing and pooping around) are caused by hormones. If you cannot get him neutered you may need to restrict his access to certain areas and/or do some extra bunny-proofing.

I rarely see full binkies from Lola, and I see them from Louie every couple of days, but lot’s of zoomies from both, and a lot of half binkies too! Binkies are the best 😀

The vast majority of these issues would be improved with neutering (especially the litter box habits). So that would be my first step. Bunnies do not respond to punishment/discipline, or humans in their hierarchy, so it doesn’t really have anything to do with you. He’s just a bunny doing normal bunny things.
The next step is to up your…[Read more]

Hi, all!
I’ll just cut to the chase, my bunny (Taro) has been causing a LOT of damage. (Warning for some unsanitary talk ahead).
For some background, Taro is about 1.5 years old, an unfixed male, and… I’m not sure what breed. He’s fluffy and has black ears and eyeliner, if that helps. He’s allowed free roam of the house, and has multiple…[Read more] -

Some people also have to add the photo to their profile, then it stays in their library and you can insert it into the post. Seems to be a glitch that’s still being worked on!

Perhaps the name is too long? Can you rename it so the name is shorter?

But yeah I mean her symptoms point to a dental issue being likely, even if you can’t see a problem with the front teeth. So maybe if you focus on her not eating hay when you talk to your father?
If he has any knowledge of horses, you might explain that horses need their teeth filed occasionally, and some rabbits do too. The procedure is very…[Read more]

Thank you for your suggestions!
Her hocks are pretty bad, and run down the length of her foot. Holding her long enough to gerry-rig up something extravagant to relieve pressure might be too much with her. Her bad behavior while being handled is how she broke her ankle in the first place at the vet’s office. These booties are custom made and in…[Read more] -

Thank you Dana for your recommendation. I’ve seen these green gardening trays online, but they are a very large size. TOO large for Zee’s pen. It would take up most of her pen lol. Also, they run about $56 yeesh. But it is a stellar idea and it has inspired me to check out our local gardening shops. Maybe I can find something there that might work!

Yeah it does looks similar to that, the left cheek looks a lot puffier and like its more drooped down than the right which sits up higher, almost like his mouth looks crooked. I have just emailed another vet to get a second look, so hopefully I can get a proper diagnosis. I’m sure that’s what this is definitely a tooth issue.I wish I could upload…[Read more]
