Bonnies does this too, it’s happy/contentment. 🙂
Also called “clucking” or “chirruping”, it’s a wonderful sound <3

Def trust your gut, I’m sure you were drawn to them for a reason. 🙂 And thank you for giving them a chance! Shy bunnies are often overlooked, and I think bunnies definitely don’t show their true personalities in shelters for the most part, more so than other animals (although I think it’s true for all animals). I’m sure they have a lot to teach…[Read more]

Pinky makes this noise sometimes when I’m petting him or scratching his cheeks. Is this a happy or scared noise? Let me know if the link doesn’t work!

Thank you so so much, that makes me feel better. The rescue peole have been responsive but they just emphasize that most rabbits are shy, which I expect but doesn’t reassure me about knowing when it’s no longer shyness and it’s dislike, ya know? I really hope my bunnies end up bonding with me and enjoying pets, because that’s really all I want of…[Read more]

They gave her fluids at the office, and they told us to give her one dose of Meloxicam and two doses of Enrofloxacin daily.

I’m glad your bunny is okay now. I was always concerned about using those little plastic cat toys with bells in them (the ones with openings). They just didn’t look safe to me, even though I saw others giving them to bunnies. Thank you for the warning!!

Sometimes un-rabbit savvy vets will prescribe antibiotics for tummy trouble. Sometimes they help, sometimes they make things worse. What antibiotic were you given?
Typical stasis treatments are fluids, syringe feeding, and pain management. Sometimes a motility med is needed. The poops strung together with fur mean that she might be having some…[Read more]

What antibiotic did you get? Metronidazole can have good effect on a possible tummy infection. Its sold under various brand names, Flagyl being one, but it should be possible to find the name of the active substance somewhere on the package.
There are several antibiotics that can be safely given to rabbits. Here’s Medirabbit’s list of Safe…[Read more]

Alright so we went to the vet’s and apparently her teeth are fine? I was expecting there to be an obvious issue with them but the vet didn’t see any. She says she can’t see any clear problem with Rain but gave us some antibiotics in case she has an infection that could be causing this. Does this sound trustworthy to you guys? I don’t mean to unde…[Read more]

It takes most bunnies at least a few days to settle in, so I would give it at least a couple weeks to see how you feel. If you are in communication with the rescue, maybe you can ask them to put a hold on the bunny that you bonded with right away just in case you don’t feel it’s a great match after a couple weeks.
All of that said, some of my…[Read more]

Well, we moved all of our stuff to San Diego over the weekend, and are going to swoop up the pets today! And… drumroll…. we are going to bring Copper with us! If it doesn’t work out with the group or Bonnie I will have to bring him back though.
Going to have them all ride together in the car on the drive and hope I can get the group…[Read more]
