How long are you planning to show them? Perhaps you could spay them when you’re done. Obviously, the sooner the better, but waiting a little bit probably won’t hurt. The chances of reproductive cancer starts to climb rapidly at around 4-5 years of age. Keep in mind though that changes in the uterus can occur well before that (~3 years). If you…[Read more]

It seems like its gotten a little better and not too white. Its sticky clear liquid but today there was like a little tiny dot of white liquid that was kind of solid. I moved it out of the way like it was a ball of lint. Shes eating pooping and peeing and giving kisses and doing her usual silly things. She is 5 years old now and i have yet to…[Read more]

If it’s very watery (and not mucous-y), then chances are it is one of the things Bam listed. If it were me, I would treat it as though something got in her eye or her tear duct is clogged. If you don’t see improvement, then you can worry about other possibilities.

I wouldn’t be discouraged just yet. As Dana said, sometimes there is a bit of back and forth. He may still be improving, but the icky feeling is still coming and going. Keep doing what you’re doing, I’m sure he will be better soon.

Things can be very up and down with tummy issues. I would syringe feed him and keep up with the pain meds if you can! If you have sub-q fluids that would also be good to do.
Sugary things can make GI upsets worse, so he might be turning it down because he knows it’s not what he needs at the moment. One of my buns would always snub his pellets…[Read more]

Today was OK, nothing miraculous though… trying to focus on the positives… the girls are no longer fighting, even though they are spending most of the time on opposite sides of the pen. They did spend about an hour or so sleeping a few feet apart.

That mix sounds like it would be fine, whatever consistency works with the syringe. I usually aim for the consistency of pancake batter. Watery is OK as it will help get her hydrated, which is important for getting the gut moving. It’s good she will eat some wheat grass.
I’m glad she has pain meds. The Baytril might help, some vets will prescribe…[Read more]

Ohhhh my goodness. I’m so very sorry. I have a bunny that I am over the moon in love with. I understand your feeling that you can’t be honest with people about your love for a bunny, and I’m sorry.
I agree with you also that sick animals, and especially sick bunnies, is the most stressful thing to go through. I’m a nurse too and it’s sad and…[Read more]

I’m trying to keep her as warm as possible with a heater and blanket.
Thank you! I will try to get my hands on critical care. For now, I will stick to the pellet mash. Would a 50/50 mix of water and pellets through a blender be okay?

We got Baytril which is to be given every 12 hours, and Metacam which is to be given once a day (the vet gave us 3 doses = 3 days).
I made a mashed up some wheatgrass because that’s one of her favourites, and great for getting the system clean. She showed interest in it so I am glad she has something in her tummy. The vet told us her temperature…[Read more]

I hope your bunny is doing better! My bunny often has very cold ears, even when he’s warm and fine. I cuddle them to my face (because I love them) but also to warm them up, he doesn’t seem to care though. He can be toasty by the fire and still have cool ears. He was sick this morning, and he was cold, but I could feel it in his body.
As far…[Read more]
