As Dana says, ear tattoos are still done these days, but micro chipping is becoming more and more common for identification purposes. This is because a bun needs to be asleep for the tattoo, but not for microchipping, and because an ear tattoo can become illegible with time.

I second that my buns love the willow wreaths, sea grass mats, and willow baskets from the BB store.

I haven’t heard of this for spay/neuter, but it’s very common for showing rabbits, so it is safe.

Maybe a better option would be to get her microchipped, then it would be in the system that she’s spayed?

I think some vets will also do a tattoo near where they would shave to prep for the surgery, that way if they ever went to spay the bun again…[Read more]

Yea thats kinda what I was thinking. Have them live in my room but separated and as the bonding progresses I can remove the gate and let them free roam in my room together.

It’s true you would want to be extra certain that they couldn’t get to each other (storage cube grid work really well for making temporary housing/pens… especially the fine mesh ones which can be used as “nose guards” that they can’t nip through). I honestly think this might be the cause of the weepy eye. Because the liquid is sticky that’s coming out of the bump and it’s the same consistency and stickiness as before. Might be a pimple. Going to vet tomorrow so will update you guys 😉

I thought of that originally but I was concerned with the idea of leaving them alone since the rabbit room is on a separate floor from my bedroom. Since the rabbit room is already bunny’s territory as she’s lived in there for 3 years. But If that is still considered the best way to go then I will definitely do that.
