I think this is new fur growing out. A friend of mine detected this same type of weird black spot on her young bun earlier this fall. As the hair kept growing out, it became obvious that it was fur with dark points at the tips of the hairs.
The skin looks perfectly fine on your picture, which also supports the new- growth-of-fur-theory. If there…[Read more]

I have not noticed anything or any irritation nearby. It’s just that one spot.

It also sounds like shedding to me. If not from molting, something else might have caused her to lose a patch of her. Are there signs of irritated skin anywhere near by? There is the possibility that it was a light shed and not a full molt as well.

Lola is super sleepy after playtime in the living room… Louie joined her for a nap quickly after.

It does sound like a spot of fur that fell out and is now regrowing. Can you post a picture?

There is no fur around there either. I suspected it could be because of shedding because the very tip of her fur does have black on it. But the thing is she is not shedding at…[Read more]

They look so cute together! Cooper is certainly one floppy little dude.

Some extra pellets would be fine too to keep some food moving through them.

How long will it be? If it’s just a day, then it probably won’t be the end of the world as long as they still have something to eat. Dried herbs are fine to give if it’s all stuff they have already been getting. With it being winter, I imagine fresh grass from the yard wouldn’t be available anyway.

Hi all, just thought I would give a little update in case anyone was following.
Bun Jovi and Myra are doing great, they seem even better than at home. Perhaps all the bonding sessions re-solidified things for them. I also eliminated dandelion from their diet for now, as I had a suspicion that it’s diuretic effect might have been triggering…[Read more]
