The whistling could be from a clogged nose. Do you see any discharge from the nostrils?

A worse case scenario is if the whistling comes from the lungs. It is difficult to determine the origin of the whistling without a stethoscope and some stethoscope practice.

My rabbit is spayed but over the last few months she has become more destructive of the rug in her pen. I agree that it just looks like a typically shed patch with new fur growing in! I have a black rabbit and this is a common occurrence.
