I don’t think he has issues with teeth as he can easily pick it if he wants.  I’ve seem him do it, specially with long pieces. And he for sure eats, seems like it’s the only thing he does lol. Besides those 2 feeders he has 2 litter boxes (one outside the cage for when he’s out) and one of those dangling balls where you can put hay in it. I’ve…[Read more]

Thank you, he’s home now and eating a little. Betty is furious with him so I’m keeping her away and spoiling her with cuddles and celery (her favourite) We tried syringe feeding him last night but got more on us and the wall than inside Herman! When the vet showed me how to do it he was a perfect angel, didn’t fight me at all 🙂

I found an old thread. Now I remember. The vet had me spike his water by putting 1/2 a teaspoon in a cup of water. Again, not sure what that equates to. I know I heard 2 mg/kg somewhere, but that may be if you are giving it directly.

    According to this: https://www.vgr1.com/revolution/#calc

It would be about 0.14 mL of the 120 mg/L package.

As for the Benedryl, I was told 2 mg/kg… but don’t quote me on that. I would need to find the instructions from years ago when my vet prescribed it. It was the Children’s Benadryl.

Rabbits as a general rule do not like to be picked up or held because of their status as prey animals. Bunnies that do are really the exception.  Many rabbits will, however lay near you on the ground or even hop up on a bed or couch to be near you.

So you could make sure to spend time with him on the floor, and provide a way for him to hop up on…[Read more]

My Bun Jovi does this, except it’s in the corner of his condo usually (on the slippery vinyl tiles). I have no idea why, but I had a theory that perhaps before I adopted him he was stuck in a cage all day and learned to do it out of boredom. But now he does it pretty much at the same time daily, even when he has full access to a large area and…[Read more]

Thank you for the link!! 🙂

So, OB’s poops have been a bit more drier lately. What really concerned me, was that I just found some wet poops of hers. One piece had some bunched up really wet poo attached to it. It looked kind of similar to one of the pictures in that guide, only, there wasn’t as much, and it was attached to a normal one. Well,…[Read more]

He’s doing much better today. He’s had a few doses of gabapentin and just got his first dose of metacam. He’s back to eating his hay and accepted his favorite treats today which is definitely a good sign because he refused them yesterday. I’ve been giving him some critical care as a precaution along with a little probiotic just to be sure.

My rabbit Betty has been living in my bedroom for a while now without issue. She’s spayed, potty trained, and usually very well behaved. In the last week or so though, she has taken to persistently digging/scratching at the hard wood flooring in my room. It’s no particular spot, she’ll do it anywhere, but her favourite place is right under my be…[Read more]

I am not saying rabbits cannot be ESA, but in general, their demeanor does not “fit” what someone typically needs when imagining interactions with an ESA. I very much agree with Dana that establishing a relationship over time with a nervous rabbit is such a rewarding experience, but that being said, it does not mean you will be able to foster a…[Read more]

All I know about his past is he was raised in a wire bottom hutch with many other rabbits. He was free, because he was fighting all the other rabbits. I’ve seen no agression! He’s got a spot he “staked out” that I furnished with a bankie and a hide n some toys. He spends more time out there than in his main house.

Oh, no no no, he LOVES to be petted. He especially loves butt rubs. Lol He comes when I call him (unless he’s grooming).

My issue, really, is to get him to cuddle, like BE IN MY ARMS to do things like clip his nails.

I know this is a task I must do, but I don’t want to shatter our trust.

Technically his “house” is just a cardboard box that has…[Read more]

So, not all rabbits are cuddle buns, but I think you could for sure improve your relationship. I think shy buns can be some of the most rewarding, because you really feel like you earn their trust. I’m sure he’s very cute so I don’t blame you for “overloving”. 😉 How long have you had him?  Some bunnies take a while to open up. Members here have…[Read more]

Soooooo…… I’m disabled. I don’t walk well and due to a fire I have severe COPD. I searched high and low for an ESA. Dogs, cats, ferrets….. And then one magical day I was on Craigslist Pets and saw the cutest critter I could ever imagine! He’s a lionhead mix harlequin coat male bunny I’ve named Cinnabunny. Not very original, I suppose, but he…[Read more]

This is a safe space LOL

OK so I saw this think where people made felted crafts out of cat fur… it sounded gross to me but it actually was kind of cute in the end…. they made tiny cat finger puppets out of their cats fur. Perhaps you could do something like that?? If you look up “cat fur felting” you get lots of results!

So yeah, I’m that type of bunny owner that keeps the fur from brushing the bunnies… I just love them okay! I’ve been thinking about buying or making bunny plushies that look like Pinky and Muffin, then putting the fur I’ve collected into their own plushies. Just so I can have a piece of them furever. 🥺 I’ve been looking at bunny plushies on Etsy…[Read more]
