I joined some NY rabbit groups on Facebook and was able to meet other owners. They told me their vet recommendations and experiences. Maybe you could try that? Or you could try asking rabbit rescues in your area for recommendations.

From what I understand, there are variations of the chinchilla color. These variations are influenced by other genes like the “wide band” gene, which makes the silver/white band in the chinchilla color about twice as wide. Poopsalot jumped up on my lap for the first time today…he did it three more times after that…I wasn’t prepared for it so I didn’t know what to do. Reading your posts, now I’m going to have treats ready for the next time…

I went to trim my bunny’s nails today, after having to wait a bit to get a friend to help me. for the past week I had been noticing her nails being too long, I just had to wait so someone could help hold her.

I’m not sure how many active members will have enough personal knowledge to respond. I know you said no links, but there is Bozeman Rabbit Resource’s website. I’m sure you found it already through Google. They do list a couple of vet clinics.

Technically chinchilla rabbits have this really clear banding pattern with 4 bands (notice the second black band before the white ticking), I don’t think Muffin quite has it:

That’s interesting, this is what his fur looks like! I’m not sure if this is what you mean lol.

As much as those really look like Pinky and his siblings, they’re not! (At least I don’t think they are). It’s a photo I found online when I was looking at bunny stuff lol. I just thought it would help identify what breed he is.

Sounds like a good plan! After you transition, just keep an eye on his body condition (I usually just feel my bunnies LOL). If he seems thin he might need a larger amount of pellets while he continues to grow a bit.
