Is it just irritated? Or could it be a skin infection (bacteria, yeast) from the bandage getting wet?
If it’s just irritated, you could put some ointment on the area to help it heal. Things like plain diaper rash ointment (no zinc), silvadene cream, Bag Balm, etc. are all suitable.

Hello.
My rabbit got a skin irritation in his paw after it was bandaged for 3 weeks. The skin area is red and with some fur loss aftervthe bandage was removed.
Do you know how can I treat his skin irritation ?
Thank you.

Milky urine or a chalky white residue that remains after the urine is dry is not necessarily worrisome. As Wick said, their bodies natural rid themselves of excess calcium. The real worry is if they have bladder sludge, which is literally the consistency of toothpaste. Frequent episodes of calcium in the urine is probably diet-related… which…[Read more]

Thanks! We did another 30min session this morning, after a short car ride – I tried reversing the reverse mount but Alfredo really loves to mount Theo’s face…. weirdly enough Theo doesn’t mind the face mount as much as the normal mount 🙄 . There was a bit of mount/run away/mount/annoyance and they had a little tiff because Alfredo kept…[Read more]

Also, this trio journal might be helpful to you! https://binkybunny.com/forums/topic/bonded-trio-journal-luna-atlas-and-nimbus/
She had a similar situation where the current pair split in the process but ended up with a happy trio at the end.

Sounds like a good plan, keep us posted!
The only other tidbit I would add is that it’s very important to prevent fights from occurring, so don’t be afraid to have your hands on them a lot in the beginning (def wear thick leather gloves!). Also doing very short sessions at first can help after stressing. So maybe you could do car rides daily or…[Read more]

Rabbits naturally pee-out excess calcium that their body does not need. If this type of urine is happening frequently, you can cut down on the amount of alfalfa pellets you are providing and/or cut out the alfalfa hay. My recommendation is cut out the hay, as it is good to get them used to eating non-alfalfa hay early on (hay is the most important…[Read more]

Helloooo to all the bunny parents, ill start by introducing myself and my bunnies. My name is Traveen and my bunnies are named Bunni (the male) and Flo (the female). I love them both too pieces.
So, they are about 12 weeks old and  I’ve been noticing that they have been peeing out milky yellow urine (it’s not thick like toothpaste) or urine that…[Read more]

I’m sorry the baby isn’t eating. You can try to support feed it from a syringe. Kitten replacement formula or goat’s milk plus a little full cream can be given. It’s very important that the baby is kept warm.
Sometimes there is something wrong internally with a baby bun, something that prevents it from thriving. It is often difficult to save a…[Read more]

Thanks for the ideas guys! The BB stuff got here a lot sooner than expected. So what I’ve done is cut the vinyl right up to where their grids stop so they can’t get a grip on it and laid down their pee pad mats to lay on and for grip and sea grass mats to chew on and rip up should they get the urge (Quincy has). So far they don’t seem to be too i…[Read more]

I have 2 bunnies ( male & Female ) , both not fixed ( as I mentioned in my earlier posts that we don’t have any exotic vets here & my horrible experience with normal vets) , both the bunnies are kept in seperate rooms . A month back , me & my family came to see unexpected litter of 6 babies , we didn’t know about the pregnancy at all .

Thank you for the reply Dana :). So it’s been a little over 24hrs since their last bad bonding session. No bunny was badly injured, just hair pulled and the lop has a scratch mark on his skin we are watching but it’s healing good.
At this point I’m thinking of taking all 3 on a car ride – or both males, on a car ride them switching the home…[Read more]

When they were babies I didn’t, but I gave them a LOT more than they get now as adults plus of course hay and salads once they were old enough. Since she’s only 4 months it shouldn’t hurt her to have a bowl of pellets out for a couple more months, then you can reassess what whether she needs to start cutting back and eat more hay.

Bam replied to the topic Suspected fur mites – how to get rid? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 7 months ago
You can clean the hutch with the hutch cleaner (check the ingredient-list, some cleaners that contain pesticides can require very good airing out before the hutch is lived in). I cleaned my buns living area with (hand-) dishwashing liquid and water and vinegar.
The most important thing is to treat the bun with Revolution repeatedly. Repeat…[Read more]
