Yes, she has toys and a dig box and tunnels and willow sticks. She has those things in her pen and she’s allowed out to free roam as much as she wants. Her blanket is tied to her pen and drapes down like a tent. We have to move the pen to let her out so maybe because it keeps moving the blanket every time, that may be annoying her? Also, I think…[Read more]

It doesn’t sound too abnormal for a female. She could be bored and it’s that’s the case it will help when she gets a friend. Does she have a kid of toys and time out to run around?

I have the best luck when I sit and ignore mine. They get curious about why I’m not bugging them and start crawling on my legs and stuff. I think ignoring them makes them feel safe. Going back to predators, a predator would not ignore them so it helps them feel trusting.
I only pick them up if I absolutely have to. To me picking them up is like…[Read more]

Hi guys,
Just wondering if someone could shed some light on some behaviour my bun has recently decided to take up as her new habit. Misty is female and just turned 2. Oh also sheโs spayed. Ginger is just older, also 2 but male and he is neutered too. They have been bonded for well over a year. Anyway Misty has decided to start licking e…[Read more]

Hi guys,
My rabbit, Phil, is 10 months old. She is spayed.
Prior to her spay, she would spend hours every day organising her blanket and any sheets or towels that were drying on radiators/chairs.
This stopped after her spay. However, in the last 2/3 weeks, she has started this behaviour again. It’s quite excessive. She can do it for well in…[Read more]

All rabbits hate being picked up. I wouldn’t try to force him to accept it, as Bam said, it’s very stressful for them and there are better ways to deal with handling them if the situation demands it. So there’s really no need to put them through that. Most likely you would just end up eroding his trust in you.

Ivermectin can also be given orally, if the spot on treatment doesn’t quite cut it your vet could try that. Worked like a charm for my bun. ๐

Thank you! Well she should molt in spring so I don’t know about that. And maybe she eats a little less hay than before.
Okay so i hope everything is alright as long as she is running happily haha

It does sound like she is alright. Is she about to go into a molt? Is she eating a good amount of hay? A drop in hay consumption can indicate a dental problem.
Any change in diet, even a small one, can make changes in the shape, color, consistency and amount of poop. As long as the majority of the poops are a good size, it’s just something to…[Read more]

Practically all rabbits hate being picked up. Most also heartily dislike being held. You know this already, but I do think all your bun needs is more time. It is of course important that he associates you with nice things like food and treats and for example unconditional headrubs.
A bun that has a bonded partner tends to be less demanding of…[Read more]

If there are scabs, I would definitely separate. No fighting back can be an indication of resignation to bullying, which can’t be good for a rabbit’s well-being.
I don’t recall the history between these buns, but it sounds like going through a bonding process period again is needed.

Lately I’ve seen some of Smokey and OB’s fur around, and have sometimes caught Silver nipping them. ๐ When I was feeling them both to see if there were any wounds, I found a few scabs on OB, and some patches where new fur is growing on Smokey. I don’t think either Smokey or OB would fight back, but I’m worried about the way Silver is treating…[Read more]

I have had my a 3 year old male, neutered bunny for a couple months now. I rescued him from a terrible situation where he was starved, and kept in a hutch. I donโt know much about his past home other than that, but I suspect something traumatic happened to him, because although he has gotten better, he is very cautious and will run away if he h…[Read more]
