Well, Beach 2021 is still a few months away 😄

This is such a lovely picture! Lucky boy!

Horse stall pellets are means to be watered, when used for horses. I know some people wet the pellets in their buns’ litterboxes as well. It would probably not be ideal if the bun spends a lot of time lounging in the box.

One option could be to use a litterbox screen, so the litter stays put in the box.

Are the horse stall pellets you use made…[Read more]

Hi everyone! So in August of 2020 I got a Holland lop from a little breeder near me. He’s super sweet. Recently I decided to get him a friend because he seemed lonely. I went to my local shelter and picked up a mini Rex mix. They told me it was a female, I know that male female bonding is the best and easiest. Tonight I got a closer look at the n…[Read more]

So uhhh just a quick update, Fresno went from being a skeleton to being ever so slightly, just a tad bit, super mildly can-hardly-even-notice-please-stop-staring-before-he-gets-self-conscious….. thicc. Yowza.

Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear that. You worked so hard on bonding them.  🙁

I use horse stall bedding pellets as bunny litter. I’ve found it’s the most economical and I’ve found it’s my favorite litter to use. The biggest problem I have with it is the dust, especially in the dryer seasons when I can’t have a window open (I live in a pretty winter-cold place).  Is there any way to lessen the dust? I have 2 buns, one being…[Read more]

Thank you DanaNM. That makes me feel better. I think separating is the best I can do right now, because I don’t want them to start having negative feelings with each other.

It’s strange that this never happened until today. It’s not like Muffin understood what the vet was saying yesterday and is now trying to mate with Pinky. I wasn’t in the vet…[Read more]

I think a little cooling off wouldn’t hurt, especially since you are waiting to get some answers. If Pinky is in-fact an unspayed female, better to separate before things escalate to fighting. As long as they are near each other they won’t forget each other.

I just locked Pinky in the pen and gave Muffin a litter box and water bowl. Maybe they’ll cool off after today and forget about it? ):

Thank you DanaNM! Yeah that sounds super confusing. Thanks for the info.

Muffin just started chasing Pinky again (might’ve mounted him, I didn’t see) so I think I’ll divide my room in half and separate them for now. Do you think this is a good idea?
Should I do bonding sessions again? Or wait to see if Pinky is a girl? I don’t know what to do..…[Read more]

Ok good, hopefully the other gal doesn’t have that by the time the bond is scheduled!

Aw your poor other male bun, hormone central! Well done for blocking and fixing the issue! Sounds very effective! We had to do that with our older gal when she hit puberty and had previously used her litter tray on the couch (a bad habit unintentionally…[Read more]

There is more variation than you might think with how rabbit genitalia look. Vaginas can look like penises… and vice versa. For example, my Myra was actually sexed as a neutered male by the rescue when she was found… then she had babies the next day! So it really can be hard to tell when there are no testicles as the give-away. The intersex…[Read more]

(The reason I mention the adoption fee is because it’s like $25 for a rabbit that’s not spayed/neutered and $100 for one who is, so I paid $200 because they were both neutered.)

I’d say a month or so? One early spring, another male bun I had, started marking the couch. He had been neutered for more than a year. I had to block off the sofa so he couldnt access it, and I think I kept it blocked off for 3-4 weeks. When I removed the grids, my bun had forgot all about the couch and pee marking.

Buns are such little weirdos 😃
