I’m so sorry 🙁
It sounds like he is in very good hands, hopefully they make some progress with the antibiotics. It’s very good he has an appetite, it shows he is a fighter.

I’m so sorry. It does sound like he is in good hands. Sepsis is very serious in humans too. Antibiotics (intravenous) and supportive care is how sepsis is treated. Sadly some bacteria are resistent to antibiotics nowadays, but hopefully the vets will find a combination that will work.
I can understand that they asked about the cats, since you…[Read more]

Also, he has staphylococcus aureus, if that makes any difference.

If you have a lop that has ear problems, it may result in facial paralysis if you let it go. My rabbit George had done to one ear. He had a stubborn ear infection. It allowed direct access to to ear so it definitely helped getting the antibiotics. It does require extra maintenance you will probably be treating the ear daily for the rest of his…[Read more]

I’m making this post to see if anyone can help, even though it hurts me so much to write this.
We took him to the vet yesterday morning because he still wasn’t doing well after the Gi Stasis. I explained a lot in my previous post about him. Our vet said there’s something wrong internally with his leg, it wouldn’t extend when they were pulling…[Read more]

Yep she was also nipping just like that but now it really hurts sometimes haha
Of course i dont pick her up a lot just sometimes for cuddles and she seems to like it a lot. I don’t understand because three days ago there was NO chance to pick her up 🤨 it’s soooo weird. So I’m hoping she will stay like that from now on (after being spayed…[Read more]

It’s funny, she sounds a lot like my newest bunny, Cooper. When I got him he was pretty recently neutered and didn’t mind being picked up. He was also very nippy! Now that his hormones have settled he still doesn’t mind being picked up, but I prefer to let him hop up on my lap when he wants to (he still does, and pretty much demands a cuddle…[Read more]

Oh yes thats a good idea. And I even think I sometimes pet her when she nips me so she would stop doing that.
I’ll try that!
I have just one more question.
She started to be real cuddly and I can even pick her up however I want. Before we couldn’t even catch her. Do you think it will stay like it is now? (I really like this change in behaviour haha)

You can try making a squeaking noise when she nips you (similar to how a bunny sounds when they scream …:( ), sometimes that communicates to the bun that they are hurting you. Bunnies nip each other a lot and it doesn’t hurt them because of all their fur.
Also notice whether you are unintentionally rewarding the nipping behavior. Are you giving…[Read more]

I’m not familiar with this procedure, but Medirabbit (a trusted source) has some information on it: http://www.medirabbit.com/EN/Surgery/Ear/ear_resection.htm
How many times has his ear infection recurred at this point?

DanaNM replied to the topic Bonding advice – Rabbit Aggression in the forum BONDING 5 years, 6 months ago
This all sounds pretty normal, I think just more pre-bonding time should do the trick! My impression is that flopping against the divider can mean “Look how much I DONT care about you” LOL
Usually it’s a good idea to let the new bun settle in for a week or two with no side swaps. So you might go back a step, and even consider hanging up a towel…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Small space making things worse? in the forum BONDING 5 years, 6 months ago
Dang! But not too surprising. Some bunnies go through repeat of the phases any time there is a change in the environment, and then things settle down again. Hoping they calm down once they get used to it!

Ah no!! There has been a recurrence of the chase/mounting, last night and this morning. I guess the litter box changed the environment enough for Theo to go for it… So far it doesn’t seem to be so much as to stress out Alfredo. At this point, I can’t remove the litter box… it would just be too messy since I have a roommate. I’m going to keep…[Read more]
