Hi! Willow here, I am deffinetly not an expert, but I do have a few tips for you. Maybe try to bond with her in a different room than where her cage is. From what I hear, it sounds like she’s being territorial. I would also recommend getting her spayed, this should help a lot with the bonding process. I too have a very feisty rabbit, so I’ll share…[Read more]

Any good news today?
When I got my girl Clover she came out of a different situation but there were enough similarities with your boy. She was outside in a hutch with about 4 other rabbits and she didn’t have any Experf indoors and although she was handled regularly for nail trims and that sort of thing she wasn’t socialized with humans. She…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Persistent respiratory infection in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 6 months ago
I think it would be worth revisiting antibiotic treatment with a longer course. 10 days is very short, and having only 2-3 days of symptom relief before the end of treatment is pretty small for what many owners experience as persistent URIs.
My Wick, who was treated for a very persistent URI, had a week-in check-in for each med we tried, with the…[Read more]

GooberBunny started the topic Bonding a Trio (Need Help!) in the forum BONDING 5 years, 6 months ago
I’m currently in the process of bonding my trio of rabbits. Pooh bear (7 Months), Eeyore (8 Months), and Kanga(Roo) (3 Years). Pooh and Eeyore are both males, and Roo is a female. Pooh and Roo have created a strong bond. We we them together in an ex pen, with a separating barrier for two sides. Pooh and Roo stay together 24/7 and Eeyore stays on…[Read more]

I found a reply in the spam folder for some reason. Not sure how it got there. Is the reply to Dana your missing post?
I’m very sorry to hear about you dad Sonn. 🙁
I love your pictures of Mr. Bit. So cute! My dog liked to put her coat or sweater on, but only because it meant she was going somewhere. She loved riding the car, etc. I would get…[Read more]

Thank you guys so much for the responses! Yea I will definitely try the bathtub, and I think I will buy a new carrier and after the prebonding I will take them for walks as a stress bond.
I was also wondering if it possible to create a neutral territory space? Like maybe leaving 1 room locked without letting them in at all and thoroughly cleaning…[Read more]

Each treatment was about 10 days, although at least one was double that. For one or two of the most successful treatments the symptoms would disappear max 2-3 days before the end of treatment. I know that’s not optimal and the infection bacteria might have developed antibiotic resistance by now. There were also gaps between because our vet liked…[Read more]

Thanks DanaNM. He is very sweet. He was doing little binkys earlier. I don’t think he was ever given an area much bigger than his body. He comes up to me and I can rub his head with my finger but he doesn’t understand that kind of attention yet.
We did another feeding for night, we got maybe 20-30mL in him, I’m not sure. He was very stres…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Ear mites turned ear infection? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 6 months ago
It sounds like the mites are still there. It usually takes more than one dose of Ivermectin to treat ear mites. Ivermectin does not prevent eggs from hatching, plus ear mites can survive in the surrounding environment for 3 weeks. That’s why the follow-up doses are necessary and the bunny area needs to be thoroughly cleaned.
There are reports of…[Read more]

Baby corn doesn’t pose the risk of a blockage like mature corn kernels do, but Dana is correct that it’s very starchy. There are definitely better options, particularly for everyday veggies. Most lettuces are perfectly safe, it’s just iceberg you want to avoid. Parsley and cilantro are pretty popular, so I agree with those suggestions.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Children's Benadryl Tx in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 6 months ago
Hi MiniRex! Allergies in rabbits are diagnosed through a process of elimination. You want to rule out more serious things first before saying it’s “just allergies”. Even if the discharge is clear, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not an infection. So I would suggest that you have your bunny evaluated by a vet.

DanaNM replied to the topic Should I re-bond? Seperate? in the forum BONDING 5 years, 6 months ago
Hmmm, are they neutered? Did either of them injure each other?
Food security does seem like it can affect bonds a bit, but it is more likely that they changed location, or the fact that they were in a trio before and they dynamic changed.
I think some bonding sessions will help. If they hurt each other, then you should fully separate and give…[Read more]

Have you ever tried palm plates? You can get organic palm plates online, they are exceedingly popular at the shelter. Never met a bunny that didn’t like them!
My bunnies also looove the seagrass mats from the BB store and all the willow baskets and wreaths.

You’re welcome! That hold is called the “football hold” for your reference! I keep the nose poking out so they can breath, but sometimes I do cover their eyes during the hold if they start to struggle.

Carrying her to the garage might have been making her afraid, so happy to hear the…[Read more]

The only lettuce to really avoid is iceberg, and really that’s because it’s generally poor quality and has almost no nutritional value. Romaine and other darker leaf lettuces are pretty nutritious. Bunston would tend to only eat kale if I gave him a mixture, so I would trick him a bit by giving him his least preferred veg first, then the second…[Read more]
