    Hey everyone

I am in a bit of a sticky situation and i just feel like i need to get it out there and talk about it with someone.

I just bought a house in November and shortly after moving in a found a very young bunny in my yard he let me pick him up and bring him into my home. It belly was completely bloated and all 4 paws frost bitten and…[Read more]

Oh, I am so sorry!! <3

Horrible things happen, where we often have no one to blame, and mistakingly chose ourselves. None of this was your fault, you did everything any of us here could have done and more! When I read that post, I see a happy family, a happy bunny, and a happy life. I know that Cotton was extremely lucky to land a life with…[Read more]

In my opinion, it would be better for the buns to have one home. This is because rabbits are stationary as a species. In the wild, they invest lots of time and energy in building their intricate home warrens. This is the reason why rabbits often are so highly territorial. The cost of surrendering their home is higher than the cost of defending…[Read more]

Very good! Thank you for the update!

The meds you have got for her are the best, metclopramide for gut motility, metacam for pain relief and recovery plus for nutrition.

Many good healing (((((vibes))))) for your girl!

She was hospitalised this morning for syringe feeding and monitoring which seems to have done the job, she’s now home (again).

ive set up a smart camera to keep a eye on her without constantly going in and out of the spare room she lives in.

I’ve been given pain meds (metacam), metoclopramide as well as recovery plus so I’m hoping and prayi…[Read more]

    Hi,

My partner and I are splitting up and we’ve been rabbit parents for a year, first with a single rabbit and then a second rabbit about 3 months ago, who we’ve been bonding (not quite done with that process) to the first rabbit. We both love the rabbits a lot and would say we’re good about taking equal care of them. We decided we wanted to…[Read more]

It’s true the don’t like being on the table, but that’s what keeps them from trying to run away or jump down.

So sorry for your loss, but also so happy that you got this wonderful  creature to accompany you during part of your journey in life.  I wish you the best, the very best, of luck so you can someday become an exotic vet and help our sweet bunnies live a good life.  Clearly you understand the purpose of having a angel pet in life.  May the uni…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Grooming rabbits? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 6 months ago

It is good to groom rabbits, at least when they are shedding. Otherwise they could ingest too much hair when they groom themselves, and thst can cause tummy trouble.

How often you need to groom your buns mostly depends on their fur type. Normal haired buns dont ususlly require much grooming outside of when they shed. Lionheads may need daily…[Read more]

Did they send you home with pain meds? Females usually need something for the pain to help them eat. Males are mostly fine without, but a spay is much more invasive than a neuter.

    Hi!

It is very good that she has had a few nibbles, but if that is all she has eaten in 12 hours, you should syringe feed her. If you don’t have Critical Care, you can soak pellets in water and feed the mush in a syringe.

It is very important that she keeps warm, buns can get hypothermia post surgery. You can give her a warm waterbottle or…[Read more]

Hi, my girl Lockie was spayed yesterday afternoon.
The lovely veterinary nurses syringe fed her twice before coming home (I wasn’t told to continue this) just to encourage her to eat… Thing is she won’t, she’s had minimal fresh herbs and a nibble of a carrot since coming home 12 hours ago, and I’m starting to worry..

    We have wee’s, I have seen…[Read more]

Well, if it is in fact one of her nipples, then it could be an infection or a cyst. She’s young, correct? If it’s an infection, it can be treated with antibiotics. If it’s a cyst, a vet can drain it.
