Sounds like they’re close but just not quite bonded. They won’t be fully bonded until one of them accepts the submissive role and it can take time. My pair went through the same thing but eventually they worked it out and now they’re so in love!

I would reach out to the rescue, they may have people who are better at intervening. I would also check with other neighbors about them. Trash in the yard and that level of neglect of the rabbits makes me think they may not be popular in the neighborhood and had issues before. Apparently Cooper can’t wait to go, as he jumped his pen this morning and was binkying around the room! Glad he at least got some zoomies out before being in a carrier all day. I had made their pens smaller to make it easier to break down today, and he is NOT pleased about it.

I think smaller diameter and deeper would work! There are crocks that mount to the side of a cage or pen that fit that description.

🙂 I bet he would like that 🙂 You could even make a tunnel leading to a hideout in that area for him, and put a sign on it that says “no humans allowed” lol

Foot nipping is often a hormonal thing, as males will nip lightly when they are thinking about mounting.

Looks like he warmed up to me again, and got back to his nipping. Yesterday he got so brave, that he would consistently nip my foot, while I was gently pushing him away, but he just kept doing it. Maybe you’re right and that’s because of his puberty. Will see what the vet says next week.
