Thank you for the reply! It is quite frustrating. Unfortunately if I do give him a head pat he’ll usually sprint away and not find it very soothing. I do give him a treat each time afterwards which he knows to expect now. Every once in a while if he’s relaxed enough I can give him a scritch for a second or two so maybe I’ll try scheduling his…[Read more]

Hello! That sounds quite frustrating. One question: have you tried doing the whole head pat and pick up then treat thing? Because I know that that’s troubling, making you feel like your the only one in the world who has this issue, but your probably not, and also if it works, then it’s worth it! 🙂 Sorry, if I can’t be of much help! But wish you luck! 🙂

Phone books (at least where I live) have soy-based ink, so they are safe. I don’t know if this is true of all phone books, this is just my experience. One thing is for sure, they aren’t as easy to come by nowadays. As for the cat scratchers, catnip is perfectly safe.

One of my rabbits, Fable, is being treated with an antihistamine. I wrote about it here: https://binkybunny.com/forums/topic/childrens-benadryl-tx/
Based on my (abundant) experience with long-term antibiotics for URIs with my other rabbit Wick, both myself and my vet decided not to go with trying antibiotics because Fable’s symptoms are not…[Read more]

Update: Fable completed our experiment of 3 weeks on it. No significant changes I could tell in her breathing rate, so we discontinued it for what has been a little over a week. Presently, I noticed instances each day where I could hear her breathing (varying intensity of wheezing), for 3 days in a row. While on benadryl, this had not happened…[Read more]

Has anyone on here ever had or has a rabbit that actually is being treated for having allergies? I am back to square one with Charlie. After culture results and 14 days off antibiotics for actinobacillus and blowing out yellow snot last night on her last day of antibiotics, the vet now believes her symptoms are severe allergies. He is going to…[Read more]

Sometimes bad things happen to good buns.
Update: A conversation was had this afternoon it was very calm and the neighbours speak kindly and just seem to be of a different age of bunny treatment.. especially since the conversation started because they ran over their own lion head in front of my house and just scooped it up in a garbage bag like…[Read more]

Yeah, I’m hoping she stays well!
I’m wondering what caused it, though. When I was looking up some possibilities, the most common one I found was indigestion….But I can’t really think of anything that might have caused that. I mean, they’ve been chewing on the carpet a bit, but I didn’t think that would do anything. 😕

Hellooooo. I’m looking for some advice on this. My rabbit is incredibly skiddish. I adopted him 2 years ago, his bonded lady passed away about 6 months ago and he took it really well. Like zooming and binkying the next day. He’s generally very happy, free roam and does lots of flops and zooms, unfortunately he’s always just terrified of being…[Read more]

Hello everyone, Loki my Lionhead and myself are new here and have already learned a lot. Â I have wondered myself if I am doing anything wrong in winning him over. Â I have had the pleasure of his presence since Jan 28th 2021 and apparently he was born on Aug 15th 2020. Â Loki will come to us if we have pellets and sometimes without. Â I will sit on…[Read more]

I’m glad she’s better, poor thing. When Oscar has tummy troubles he doesn’t bother using the litterbox either.

Thank you Andi. At 7 years old he was about as old as ferrets usually get to be. He also had insulinoma which causes low blood sugar. He was doing well on his medications, but that night his blood sugar crashed and I couldn’t turn it around. We woke up to his screams and it didn’t get any better after that. It was horrible. I had hoped he would…[Read more]

Yes, I think a vet assessment is a safe call.

This happened last night. Roughly 12 hours. She still hops up on her little ledge that’s in her enclosure. She will put some weight on it now but I can tell she is still being cautious. She is free roam unless we leave the house, but I am keeping her in the enclosure right now to minimize any more harm. I’m going to call the vet and see if they…[Read more]

How long has it been? Sometimes rabbits inevitably harm themselves with their spurts of energy. I would say if it has been an hour or more and the leg is still not weight bearing, I would go to the vet for assessment. I have had my rabbit keep one of his paws lifted after a poor landing, but in about 10 minutes, he was using it like normal.

Hello, I have a 4 month old mini Holland lop. She was doing zoomies around the living room last night and I think she hit her leg against the baseboard heater and her enclosure. (There’s a 6 inch gap and she and her litter mate love running behind it) She started limping shortly after. She puts minimal pressure on her back leg. She is still…[Read more]
