I’m so sorry that you feel this way!! <3
I strongly believe that Rain has a great life with you. 🙂 The fact that you’re worried about her says sooooooo much. And, please don’t feel guilty! I know that Rain doesn’t blame you in the slightest! We all have our times, and we’ll get through them together. 🙂
We’re always here for you!!

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’ve gone through serious bouts of depression as well and literally the only thing I was capable of doing at some points was feeding my cats and changing their box every few days. I didn’t have rabbits at the time. I’m sorry to hear that your parents are not taking you seriously because depression tends to…[Read more]

JDro started the topic Unusual Behavior in Bunny in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 6 months ago
Hi All,
Our 6 month old bunny has been exhibiting some strange behavior this morning. Last night she was completely fine. Right before bed time, she threw a bit of a fit being put back into her pen. She seemed fine, and overnight she ate and drank water.
In the morning she is usually very excited to see us, and will zoom around her pen on…[Read more]

School counselors are bound by confidentiality (with some exceptions, but they will state what those are), and they can be extremely supportive and also provide an avenue to getting additional support, if you’d like.
If you truly feel you’re unable to take care of Rain at this time, I think contacting your local HRS chapter would be wise, rather…[Read more]

I have similar issues with Wally and let me he’s an ugly shedder too. He gets those nasty clumps of hair all over and it HAS to be dealt with. I don’t brush him. I pet his head and remove clumps with my other hand and gently pet all over him while he gets comfortable then start kind of rubbing my hand all over his fur to remove as much hair as…[Read more]

That was longer than I expected. TLDR I think we might be close to a breakthrough but one rabbit is being very sulky and agressive with his bonded partner.

Hi all! I’ve been posting for a while about my trio bond so I’ll give a quick recap and get to my question.
I have 2 bonded neutered males and about 2 years ago introduced a spayed female. All are in the 3.5-5 year old range now. One of my males is a little strange and is also a Polish so he’s only about 2.5 lbs. The reason I have him instead…[Read more]

Okay thanks! We’re good with taking it slow, do you have any ideas on how to better handle shedding season when I have to grab him weekly? That’s when our bond really suffers

Hi, when I got Herman he wouldn’t let me touch him either, he would grunt and lunge if I even tried! I started lying down on the floor, no attempt to touch him but let him come and sniff me, check me out and eventually climb on me. After a while I could pet him when he climbed on me and when he approached me. Now I can pet him, syringe feed him…[Read more]

I strongly support LBJs suggestion about talking to a school councilor, if that is an option available to you. Depression is a treatable condition, and it should be treated. As with practically all ailments, both of body and mind, the sooner you get treatment, the better.

Hi, I was going to attempt bonding for the 3rd time with Betty and Herman. They have lived side by side in the divided main living space for 8 months, 5 of those in harmony. (Partly because I’ve not attempted to bond them in that time possibly?) There have been a lot of changes in our home over that time – a new dog, then Herman was hospitalised…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Cecotrope Question in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 6 months ago
Sticky uneaten cecotropes occur due to an imbalance in the microbial gut flora. Some rabbits are more prone than others. It isn’t a serious health problem, but it’s inconvenient for both you and the bun.
The cause is most often dietary. You can cut out all greens and treats, but unless your bun is a very good hay eater, there are risks with only…[Read more]

Hi there, for the past few weeks, my bunny’s cecotropes have been really soft and they’re getting stuck to the floor and to my bunny’s Butt; she’s not eating all of them so maybe she’s overproducing them?, the rest of her feces is normal, though. What could be the cause of this and how do I clean all the feces off of her butt?
P.S. Based on a few…[Read more]

Hi Ann! Welcome to BB! This thread is very old, I doubt the OP is still around. My guess is that they joined the forum to ask this question since they only ever posted 7 times. I would suggest starting you own thread since digging up old threads just causes confusion. If you need help doing that, let me know. I’m going to lock this thread now so…[Read more]

Are they any updates about your bunnies nipping problem? I’m dealing with a very similar problem. During the bonding session two males all fixed, months of introducing, fence to fence all that stuff. Now I’m in the step they hanging out without a fence, eating together, sharing toys. Lately one bunny lays down and the other is trying to bite the…[Read more]

We certainly want to help you. I’m just concerned because rehoming Rain would not solve what you are going through. What I mean is, you feel guilty and feel like rehoming her would give her the life she deserves. That may or may not be true. My guess is that this neglect is probably not as bad as you perceive it to be. Is she safe? Is she fed?…[Read more]
