Hi all! I’ve been posting for a while about my trio bond so I’ll give a quick recap and get to my question.
I have 2 bonded neutered males and about 2 years ago introduced a spayed female. All are in the 3.5-5 year old range now. One of my males is a little strange and is also a Polish so he’s only about 2.5 lbs. The reason I have him instead…[Read more]

Okay thanks! We’re good with taking it slow, do you have any ideas on how to better handle shedding season when I have to grab him weekly? That’s when our bond really suffers

Hi, when I got Herman he wouldn’t let me touch him either, he would grunt and lunge if I even tried! I started lying down on the floor, no attempt to touch him but let him come and sniff me, check me out and eventually climb on me. After a while I could pet him when he climbed on me and when he approached me. Now I can pet him, syringe feed him…[Read more]

I strongly support LBJs suggestion about talking to a school councilor, if that is an option available to you. Depression is a treatable condition, and it should be treated. As with practically all ailments, both of body and mind, the sooner you get treatment, the better.

Hi, I was going to attempt bonding for the 3rd time with Betty and Herman. They have lived side by side in the divided main living space for 8 months, 5 of those in harmony. (Partly because I’ve not attempted to bond them in that time possibly?) There have been a lot of changes in our home over that time – a new dog, then Herman was hospitalised…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Cecotrope Question in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 5 months ago
Sticky uneaten cecotropes occur due to an imbalance in the microbial gut flora. Some rabbits are more prone than others. It isn’t a serious health problem, but it’s inconvenient for both you and the bun.
The cause is most often dietary. You can cut out all greens and treats, but unless your bun is a very good hay eater, there are risks with only…[Read more]

Hi there, for the past few weeks, my bunny’s cecotropes have been really soft and they’re getting stuck to the floor and to my bunny’s Butt; she’s not eating all of them so maybe she’s overproducing them?, the rest of her feces is normal, though. What could be the cause of this and how do I clean all the feces off of her butt?
P.S. Based on a few…[Read more]

Hi Ann! Welcome to BB! This thread is very old, I doubt the OP is still around. My guess is that they joined the forum to ask this question since they only ever posted 7 times. I would suggest starting you own thread since digging up old threads just causes confusion. If you need help doing that, let me know. I’m going to lock this thread now so…[Read more]

Are they any updates about your bunnies nipping problem? I’m dealing with a very similar problem. During the bonding session two males all fixed, months of introducing, fence to fence all that stuff. Now I’m in the step they hanging out without a fence, eating together, sharing toys. Lately one bunny lays down and the other is trying to bite the…[Read more]

We certainly want to help you. I’m just concerned because rehoming Rain would not solve what you are going through. What I mean is, you feel guilty and feel like rehoming her would give her the life she deserves. That may or may not be true. My guess is that this neglect is probably not as bad as you perceive it to be. Is she safe? Is she fed?…[Read more]

Thank you both for the very kind and considerate responses. At the moment no, I do not have any chances of getting help for depression or anxiety, nor have I ever sought professional help. My parents are very much convinced that there is nothing mentally wrong with me and that it is an adolescent phase. It has been constant issues for 3ish years…[Read more]

Oh, I’m so sorry you’re going through this! <3
The pandemic has taken a huuuuuuge toll on all of us, so I have a lot of empathy right now. Know that it’s not just you going through this, that there are others experiencing the same things, that there are people who understand and can help you. 🙂 If you ever need someone to talk to, for advice, a…[Read more]

I have the same issue with Mila. She has had a few episodes and each time it’s more frequent. We have spent well over 5k dollars only on emergency vet bills. She is now on simethicone, metaclopramide and another medicine daily for life and she still gets the go stasis issue.
indeed she is sick right now and it’s very hard for me to keep spe…[Read more]

Before we discuss rehoming Rain… you said that you don’t see anything changing anytime soon. Are you able to see someone about your depression and anxiety?

Hello, I need some advice on what to do as a first time rabbit owner of three years. I’ve noticed that as I started growing more depressed my relationship with Rain has deteriorated accordingly. The first year and a half I had her I was meticulous in taking care of her…after that though, things have declined, and I’ve unintentionally become neg…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Any bunnies who have have allergies here? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 5 months ago
Rabbits can be given Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) or Chlorphenamine. However, it seems Chlorphenamine is difficult to find as a syrup (children’s formula). I have experience with using Benadryl, but like Wick, it wasn’t for allergies.
