It does sound like she could have a dental problem that causes her mouth to hurt. Dental problems can manifest very suddenly. If she wont eat anything, she does need a vet. (I know you know this). Standard treatment would be painkillers, sub q fluids, syringe feeding and likely a gut motility drug.
An ER vet might not do dental x rays, since she…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Did I cause my bunnies death? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 6 months ago
I’m very sorry you lost your bun. I don’t think you caused it. Vaseline wouldnt kill a rabbit. Neither would fur mites. I dont know what lotion you used, and while lotion isn’t something that should be used on a rabbit unless a vet prescribes it, I’m thinking your bun had already been ill for some time when you saw the dry skin. Fur mites are…[Read more]

Hi. My bunny died a few weeks ago and I really want to know if what I did may have caused it. 3 days before he passed, I saw that he had dry skin and I’m not sure if I did it that day or the day after, but I decided to get lotion and Vaseline and put it on his dry spots. I put a good amount, but made sure to rub it in well and comb it out. Then o…[Read more]

Thanks for the response @LBJ10. It is worrying me as so many blogs mention that constant digging and tearing up cardboards is a sign of stress/boredom/frustration. She spends an hour in the morning and an hour in the evng tearing up and digging near fridge or couch 😛
Happy if it is her blossoming in progress 🙂 I am looking forward to those…[Read more]

She’s too small and fast to pick up or do the sitting method with plus I’m too scared of hurting her to pull it off :/ She still has not eaten a crumb, it’s been more than 12 hours now. I’m not sure what to do because the rabbit clinic is closed. Shes gotten a few drips of the gas drops but not a full dose, and she drinks a little bit of water.…[Read more]

Thanks for checking in!
She wound up acting a bit more normal and we wound up not having to take her in. We gave her simethicone just in case it was GI related and it turns out it was. She was zooming around again by 4PM and has been eating drinking pooping and peeing normally!
Her statis behavior was the complete opposite of our last b…[Read more]

I would use faux fur with caution. Depending on the type, the fur may shed more than you would like it to.

I don’t think your relationship was damaged necessarily. She sounds like a perfectly normal young bunny that is blossoming. 😉 She’s 3 months old, so I assume she isn’t spayed yet. As her hormones kick into high gear in the coming months, be prepared for more of this type of behavior.

Yeah, I wouldn’t be overly worried. A little bit of matting/tangling is to be expected in that area.

Red urine isn’t unusual, I wouldn’t be worried. The color isn’t always linked to veggies. Things like alfalfa can cause red urine as well.

I’m sorry to hear about Tilly. 🙁
To be honest, I would not move him. At least not yet. I think it’s helpful to keep the same routine when one of a pair passes away.

We sadly lost our sweet Tilly last night. It was very sudden and we’re all still trying to process what’s happened. She leaves behind the love of her life, Nibbles. These two absolutely adored each other. He was right at her side up until the end and was able to spend some time with her body afterwards.
Nibs is doing okay. He has been eati…[Read more]

Sounds like discomfort to me. It looks like it’s been awhile since you posted this. Did you make it to the vet?

Are you able to “sit” on her? That’s what I do when I only have 2 hands. You sit on your knees and place bunny between your legs. Tuck you feet in so they can’t wiggle backwards. This makes it much easier to hold their head and insert the syringe in their mouth.

If it’s a small amount it’s fine and she can’t groom herself. I dont think itd be disruptive enough to need a water rub.

That looks normal to me. Rabbits urine can vary in color and be perfectly healthy, there is a wabbit wiki page that explains in detail if you are interested.
