Ugh, this is so sad. I hope they are in a better place now, but I don’t have a good feeling about it. 🙁 Could you ask them what they did with the others?
I’m glad you were able to rescue the little boy. Poor thing, all those scars on his face and his ear. It makes me sick how some people treat their animals. Why even keep them if they don’t…[Read more]

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s so horrible when they are so young. 🙁
It’s clear he was very loved and had an amazing life with you, short though it was. And that’s so wonderful that he inspired you to become a vet to help other bunnies. <3

What types of greens have you tried? Fragrant herbs like cilantro and parsley are usually very popular. Dandelion or fresh grass is also usually a huge hit. You could try growing wheat grass/cat grass, I bet she would love that, even as an occasional treat.
Greens are not strictly necessary, as the vets have said, and some bunnies actually are…[Read more]

I was also going to suggest memory foam bath mats. I think some people also will just faux shearling rugs, and those beds that are meant to be used in dog crates.
Putting down some fleece blanket or towels so that they are bunched up will also help, as the uneven surface takes pressure off the heel.
You’ll want to keep an eye on things for…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Any tips on encouraging hay eating? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 5 months ago
I second Wick’s suggestion about food spacing, as well as trying a different hay type or source. I normally get hay by the bale, and when I was traveling recently I had to get some pet-store bagged hay (from a reputable brand) that looked great to my eye, but all my spoiled buns turned their nose up at it.

Oh wow! Poor little guy, that’s so wonderful that you rescued him. I hope they other bunnies were taken to a shelter and not something worse.

Very interesting!
Regarding Winnie’s behavior change, it’s great that you are seeing positive changes. That might shift a bit when Leo hit’s puberty, but hopefully not. I don’t think she feels threatened. She could be smelling Leo on you and wanting to check that out. She also could be comforted by the presence of another rabbit around,…[Read more]

Hi there,
There are definitely some hormonal fluctuations for the few weeks post-neuter that can make buns extra crazy.
As for the rug digging, does he have any safe alternatives to chew and dig at instead? My diggers really like cardboard cat scratchers, paper mats, and sea grass mats. Phone books and boxes stuffed with shredded paper can also…[Read more]

Hello I’m new to this forum group.
I have 2 boys Charlie and Leo that live outside. I have a problem that they have started banging at night. I’ve been watching them on a camera I have and they seem very chilled and relax and then randomly one of them starts banging. It happens at different times of the night, some times it’s one or 2 bangs then…[Read more] -

Hi All,
My 4.5 year old rabbit Phoebe stopped eating her pellets earlier this week. She was still eating some hay, but not her usual amount. She acted similarly over the summer when she had some minor molar spurs, so I suspected that was what was wrong. She spent most of Tuesday at the vets office getting some fluids and checked out, but…[Read more]

Oh bunnytowne, hello! 👋🏼
It’s very nice to hear from you. I think you did tell us you got a cat after Cotton passed. What is it’s name?
I do hope you know, you can visit & post here as much as you like even if you no longer have a bunny. 🙂
I have 3 buns now. One single boy and a pair. They’re all seniors. 🥰
I’m also bun sitting 5 others.…[Read more]

Hi!
So my bun is 1 year old and I was finally able to neuter him. He is normally a very calm bunny and is never destructive at all. I wasn’t going to get a second bun, so originally I considered not neutering him. But then he started humping me and scratching me any second he got. He doesn’t have a cage, so I would literally wake up to him…[Read more]
