I would feel free to give her extra greens to make sure she’s getting enough to eat. Can you try offering some pellet mash or critical care? If you have fresh grass available you could also try that.

He said she was very good at letting him open her mouth and was able to see/feel around at the back. She is normal and active in all other ways, except you can tell she’s hungry. Will call the vet tomorrow. Thanks

Was your rabbit treated for the mites?
That doesn’t sound normal to me. She could also have an injury, not just the mites. Is your vet rabbit savvy?

It does sound like a dental problem. Did your vet do a deep oral exam of the molars? Is your vet rabbit savvy? Sometimes an x-ray is needed, because you can’t usually see the back teeth without anesthesia.
Are there any other symptoms of pain or behavioral changes?

Hi! I am new to this site, excited to have somewhere to share info about bunnies! My bun Rexi is 10 months old, and has been a light in our house! So much fun.
I am wondering if anyone has experience with hocks on back feet of bunnies? I recently found hers and trimmed her nails immediately and hoping it doesnt get worse. Any remedies or tips…[Read more]

My bunny has stopped eating her pellets, hay or anything hard. I have tried Oxbow, Nutrena and Kaytee pellets with no luck. She will eat greens. The vet said her teeth are ok but doesn’t know what is wrong. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ok gotcha!
I like the 24/7 method, but I usually like do a few short sessions first, just to get a sense of how things will go. And of course have back-up plans in case it’s not going well. There’s nothing wrong with taking some breaks if you need them (or especially if the bunnies need them). If you’re going to do it alone, it can be hard to…[Read more]

I do think some rabbits perceive the broom as another rabbit. A broom is hairy, it moves, and it intrudes into the bun’s territory where it messes with the bun’s poop. Buns have territorial poops that they mark their area with. The broom tries to remove this poop, which must be regarded as an act of hostility. The fact that your bun starts to poop…[Read more]

I was going to borrow my friends house, she just bought it so she was going to let me use it for the bonding process. But I’ll have to ask her about the dust problem.
I was actually planning on trying the 24/7 bonding technique where I would watch them the whole time to make sure there’s no fighting

Behavior mirroring and laying near each other is a very good sign!
If the stress was very intense for a prolonged period of time, that could be harmful. I think the only way to know would be to try it out. They might get used to the noise if it’s not too intense. You could certainly try some shorter sessions in that space and see how it goes, or…[Read more]

I think brooms can be confusing to rabbits. The sweeping motion makes them feel threatened because they don’t know what it is. Easiest solution would prob be to pen the rabbit in a different area while you sweep. You could also try acclimating him to the broom by letting him sniff it and check it out.

That’s so frustrating. I know there are a few other members here who’ve had experiences with neighbors not taking care of their animals.
I wouldn’t worry about the car ride. He might be too happy during the car ride, but most rabbits handle it well. You can start by getting him acclimated to his carrier. If you leave it out all the time and feed…[Read more]

Ah yea, I used to have the small pens and they jumped over that so now I got the 4ft pens haha. I left 2 inches between as well so they can’t fight through the bars.
For the most part, they have just been sleeping next to each other so maybe there’s still hope!! I also noticed they started to do the same thing at the same time again, like w…[Read more]

Hi, my rabbit gets aggressive when it sees the broom. When I take the broom, it goes crazy. When it sees the broom it poopes everywhere. My bunny calms down when i llet go of my broom. The case is about my touching the broom. Does it think the broom is another rabbit?

That’s great! Keep an eye on attempts to jump or climb out. I’ve never seen bunnies jump as high as when they are trying to “get at” a bun in another pen.
Are you asking if the construction in the basement would be too scary to do bonding sessions on the second floor? It depends on the level of noise… but some stress from the noise might…[Read more]
