He said she was very good at letting him open her mouth and was able to see/feel around at the back. She is normal and active in all other ways, except you can tell she’s hungry.  Will call the vet tomorrow. Thanks

Was your rabbit treated for the mites?

That doesn’t sound normal to me. She could also have an injury, not just the mites. Is your vet rabbit savvy?

It does sound like a dental problem. Did your vet do a deep oral exam of the molars? Is your vet rabbit savvy? Sometimes an x-ray is needed, because you can’t usually see the back teeth without anesthesia.

I do think some rabbits perceive the broom as another rabbit. A broom is hairy, it moves, and it intrudes into the bun’s territory where it messes with the bun’s poop. I think brooms can be confusing to rabbits. The sweeping motion makes them feel threatened because they don’t know what it is. Easiest solution would prob be to pen the rabbit in a different area while you sweep. You could also try acclimating him to the broom by letting him sniff it and check it out.

That’s great! Keep an eye on attempts to jump or climb out. I’ve never seen bunnies jump as high as when they are trying to “get at” a bun in another pen.
