That’s really tough. I’m sorry the new vet told you that…how awful. I think some vets are just not comfortable with rabbit dentals so they don’t really know what to say. I am sure you will get a better idea of options from your regular vet tomorrow who has a better idea of her history.

Just a update. The doctor said there was a bit of tissue mixed with pus when they stuck a needle in so they will have him on PenG procaine for the nect couple days. Nect tuesday we will head back and see if the abscess is all pus or if there is still tissue mixed in. If there is only pus then they will cut it open to get rid of the pus and…[Read more]

Happy children’s day to you!

When I lived in Korea, they celebrated children’s day too. School would let our early and I got a lot of chocolate from teachers and friends.

My bunny has matted fur under her eye and it’s (sort of) pealing back. It’s hard to see, I can try another photo of needed. Just wondering what’s going on, and most importantly, what I need to do.

When my bun Bam had fur mites (I found him outside, he had mites upon arrival), I treated him, brushed off the skin flakes 2 days after applying the drops, did repeat treatment after 2 weeks, brushed him, and after that I never saw any signs of mites on him again. Sometimes a 3rd and a 4th repeat treatment is needed.

I’m very sorry your rabbit passed away. It is very difficult to deal with guilt. As Dana says, what we can do is focus on doing better in the future. Sometimes we learn things the hard way, and sometimes we cause others to suffer even if we didnt mean to.

I dont think giving your bun CPR would’ve changed anything, so at least don’t feel guilty about that.

Any dietary change will cause some changes in the overall appearance of the poop. It’s nothing to worry about as long as there is a good amount of nicely formed poop.
