Ellie from The Netherlands replied to the topic Refusing to drink in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 4 months ago
Hehehe, spoilt π My BF’s previous rabbit wouldn’t drink either when he moved to another part of the country. She hated the taste of the tap water here! He needed to get her bottled water as well, and slowly mixed in the tap water so she could get used to it.

I read your other topic about his neuter, he’s probably extra grumpy because he’s full of hormones and crazy puberty antics. Wick gives a really good suggestion for blocking off his view! π My boyfriend used something similar when he wanted to keep his bunny in the bedroom: he lowered the ironing board and put it across the door frame. She was a…[Read more]

Well, he’s probably upset because he’s being blocked out of part if his territory for no apparent reason (to him)! It’s probably even more frustrating because he literally sees what he can’t have access to. He seems to be reacting very naturally and how any rabbit would react to this situation. Imagine if you were told to stay within a taped…[Read more]

My bun hates being closed in. I’ve got a playpen for him now to stay in at night because he jumps on me when I sleep and because he need somewhere to be if im outside.
He wont accept it. He just got it but I know because when he freeroams the kitchen he takes the compost grid we’ve closed the room off with and tosses it away. He gets really…[Read more]

@Hazel – that’s a very legit reason! Fast molting for Oscar!
@DanaNM – that’s really cool, it does look like a church. It will be fun to see the pre and post redecorating pics!
& Ellie you crack me up! I am glad to report our mana supply has radically decreased as I think I was about to get a hairball myself!

DanaNM replied to the topic Sisters Bond Broken? in the forum BONDING 5 years, 4 months ago
It’s possible, but I think I know of more cases where the bond has been repaired than not. And sometimes the bond just kind of snaps back together suddenly, like they are like “Oh, I remember you!”
The longer separation is usually recommended if a bunny got a severe injury. If they were just pulling fur, then you are prob OK to go with…[Read more]

Yes the vet did say to feed small amounts so it seems less is more.
I’ll keep giving her small amounts. She doesnt seem to have major issues with gas and isnt bloated so it seems the amount is generally agreeing with her.

I know it’s awful for them. But also awful to witness for you. There definatley seems to be something going on when they are refusing hay and treats. I would ring your vet back and tell them it’s still going on.
Vibrations can help if you can buy a little vibrating bullet online which are small enough for you to slide under the belly. You can…[Read more]

jerseybunnies replied to the topic A question about when I should neuter him in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 4 months ago
Some younger rabbits could seem a bit thin until they “broaden out”. I would just maybe increase his pellet amount a bit. Everything sounds good though, good luck with the neuter! π

Thanks everyone.
I booked him for next week to get neutered. He’s very wild today and chasing the cat more than ever, i’m afraid he’ll annoy our cat too much so he swipes at him and they stop getting along. And he’s pooped more in my bed. He’s just a little thin even though he eats but if he’s too thin they’ll reject neutering him I hope.

Ok, i now it. But my problem is different. Every answer, an article, every topic I write requires moderator approval. Why?

Chainida replied to the topic Water fountains for rabbits in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 4 months ago
I use the Petsafe Drinkwell Butterfly fountain. I just got it yesterday and so far I really like it. Itβs such a pain in the butt to change the bunnies water everyday because one of them is shedding. Both of my bunnies seem to like it and the fountain is low enough so they can reach it.

Hazel replied to the topic April pics in the forum THE LOUNGE 5 years, 4 months ago
@prince dorian the bun : Oscar is shedding up a storm at the moment, he has explicitly forbidden me to take any pictures until he looks more presentable. π
Dorian’s curled up paw and pinned ears make it look like he’s ready to throw down. πΒ I doubt he could find anyone to get into a fight with though, they would just stand there and “aww”…[Read more]
