They are both. You can apply it before going out. Just remember that rabbits can metabolize these faster than other animals. So you may need to use it more a little more frequently than the directions indicate for cats/dogs. However, this will also depend on the bunny.

Yes, RHDV is spreading. Definitely something to keep in mind. As for actual flea medications, Advantage and Revolution are safe for bunnies. Never use any products containing fipronil (ex: Frontline), since this is toxic to rabbits.

Unless the shaved area is irritated in some way, I don’t think a little bit of licking is going to hurt it. The area might feel weird to him until the fur starts to grow back. If he is still eating, there shouldn’t be some kind of health issue wrong. Oats and sunflower seeds are good. I would just suggest giving his pellets right up to him if that is what’s working.
