1/2 a cup is a lot of pellets. Even though some people feed unlimited up to a year, many people start reducing the pellet amount and transitioning to an adult diet around 6 months or so, unless it’s a giant breed.
Ingesting lots of fur can cause some digestive problems and molting in general can cause some bunnies to have some gi issues. I would…[Read more]

He doesn’t look like a checkered giant to me at all (not the right body shape, coat texture or pattern, ear size or head shape). His color pattern can be found in many different breeds though.
Could be something like a lionhead (or an angora or wooly, as LBJ10 suggested) crossed with something like a New Zealand. New Zealand rabbits can be pretty…[Read more]

Her poop looks ok I’ve been noticing hair connecting some of her poops but I’ve seen that with other rabbits before. She is eating some hay but not a ton and she is still eating veggies but she just isn’t as exciting about food or treats. Her food bowl has measurements printed in it and I usually fill it up to the 1/2 cup mark since she is still…[Read more]

The fur texture definitely looks different. That’s why I was thinking wool was mixed in there. Lionheads, however, are very diverse in coat texture and appearance.

Yes, more information is needed. Is she still eating hay and veggies? Is she pooping OK? How many pellets is she getting and what type are they?

Snowball and pepper are enjoying their new home. I’m thankful I am here so I can let them out. But if I’m away they still have plenty of room to hop around because it’s an 8 feet wide exercised in.

Pepper and Stovall are enjoying their new habitat. They live in an 8 feet wide X pin. I’m so happy they still have space to hop around and play even when I have to work. -

My bunnies are house bunnies. Weather forecast for this part of Indiana says it will be 90 this weekend in low of 70 at night. What temperature should we keep our air conditioners. In order to save on electricity. to keep our furry family members comfortable.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Help! I think our bunny may have ear mites in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 3 months ago
I agree with Dana. She may be uncomfortable, but it probably isn’t an emergency. As long as she’s still eating/pooping, you should be OK to wait until the vet appointment. Baby oil may temporarily relieve the itch, but it won’t cure the ear mites. And yes, ear mites can affect one ear before spreading to the other and inflammation can make the…[Read more]

His fur wasn’t clipped that I know of.
I doubt they would do that. His previous owners fed him dog and cat feed and didn’t care for him.

I’m looking at his fur texture. Was he clipped? Maybe he’s an angora mix.

I’ve never seen a bunny with such tiny ears. People keep saying a dwarf x lionhead but wouldn’t he be tiny if so? I’m not very familiar with bunny breeds so it’s hard for me to guess. I was wondering if maybe this? A checkered Giant but again why tiny ears?

What a brat! LOL. At least she listens when you yelp!
Cooper is obsessed with pulling my husband’s buttons off his shirt. I’m convinced he thinks they are ticks and he’s helping get the nasty parasites out of our fur!

It doesn’t sound like things are going terribly, but I would wait a little longer for hormones to settle, sometimes females can take a while for things to calm down. I think 4 weeks minimum is a good rule of thumb. Also, did you do any pre-bonding (side swaps)? This can help a lot when buns are very tense around each other.
I personally have…[Read more]

I don’t think this constitutes an emergency based off what you’ve told me, but if you notice a change in appetite, poop, changes in behavior, or any symptoms of pain then I would recommend getting her in sooner. Same if you notice any head tilt, or anything like that.
It can help to take a picture for your own reference to see if things are…[Read more]

How many pellets is she getting? And how is her hay and veggie consumption? Do her poops look normal?
Usually a change in appetite is a signal something is wrong, but if she’s getting a large amount of pellets she could just be eating her fill and then not wanting more.
