Oh man! I tell ya, bunnies definitely show you how high they can jump when there is another bunny around!

I just had a little scare this morning because I accidentally left a baby gate open when I let Cooper out. Of course he runs right upstairs and got QUITE the telling off by Bun Jovi.

Food aggression in bonded pairs is not an uncommon problem, but it can be very frustrating! If it doesn’t escalate and they calm down once they have their food, then it isn’t a huge issue.

There are a few threads here on this that might give you some ideas (there are more too, if you search the forum for “food aggression bonded pair” there are…[Read more]

Glad you got some into her! Bam is totally right, sometimes even just a tiny bit can help them perk up and start eating on their own!

As a reminder (to all), the topic of intentional breeding is prohibited on these forums. Because of this, many Binkybunny users (including myself) are not very knowledgeable about pregnancy.

From the little I know, you won’t really be able to tell if a rabbit is pregnant until later in the pregnancy (similar to human females; signs take time to…[Read more]

It’ss absolutely great that she’s eaten a tiny bit of hay by herself and even produced some poop! It’s very promising.

It’s also great that she took a little bit of the CC. Even the smallest amount can perk a bun up so she gets enough energy to start eating. Its completely normal to get more CC on you and the furniture than into the bun the first…[Read more]

Hello. Sorry for another question so soon. My bunny keeps getting rounder. How to I know if she is pregnant? I felt her tum and it was soft and mushy. I felt no balls (poop) or anything else. Maybe I did it wrong. What are earily signs 6-10 days and so on. I’m just worried.

Thank you for the videos! I tried method 1 and got a tiny amount in her. She just starts flailing everywhere even when you have a good grip and I’m really concerned about her stitches when she does that.
I do wish I would have gotten more in her system but I was thankful to at least get some. She has also woken up periodically and grabbed a p…[Read more]

So sorry, I didn’t realise that I hadn’t replied to this. I’m pleased to say that this behaviour resolved. We still find the odd clump of Tony’s fur, but probably not even once a week now, which is positive. They are firm friends now, constantly snuggling and grooming… Except for food.

Phil goes berserk when food is on the cards. She goes for…[Read more]

Had Boo in the pen and hear hubby ask, is that one supposed to be on top?

Boo had jumped up onto Walter’s cage and was sitting in her temp litter box.

She could have jumped off and been anywhere with a crazy Aussie on her tail.  No, crazy Aussie wouldn’t hurt her, but could sure scare her!

Good thing she has calmed down.  No issue picking her u…[Read more]

That sounds like wonderful progress! I would just keep up what you’ve been doing and don’t be too afraid of intervening with lots of petting in the early stages. When things are still a bit tense it can be better to intervene too much just to make sure things don’t escalate. It takes them some time to decide who will do the grooming, etc., so now…[Read more]

This is the picture of her ear.  Shockingly she has not been paying a ton of extra attention to it.  Her other ear looks normal.  And also no head tilt.  She was just running around her cage happy before my wife calmed her down to get this picture.

Thanks everyone.  This makes me feel a bit better about waiting another day+ for the vet.

Me again! Your suggestion to do more pre-bonding had worked like a charm.  Bunnies are doing well in their separate enclosures in the same room. They’ve been there with me switching them around everyday for over 2 weeks now. It took them a while to calm down the first few days but now they’re happy in either one. When I’m home I let them out of…[Read more]

Yes, I think it’s probably time to start transitioning her to an adult ration of pellets. If she doesn’t become more interested in her hay and veggies, then I agree with Dana that it could be a sign that something is wrong. The beginning of GI stasis is probably suspect #1. She’s a bit young for dental problems, but you never know.

Oh that’s a good thought Dana! NZs come in a broken pattern. So yeah, maybe NZ x Angora or NZ x Lionhead.
