    How old is she?

Buns can have genes that gradually render them a dark nose and ears, then a dark face and dark limbs, as they grow into adulthood. Seal point coloring is an example of this. The color change from baby fur color to adult fur color can be quite radical. The young bun can be almost white with a little bit of gray or or light brown…[Read more]

    Hi,

I have noticed that my rabbits right nostril has changed to a dark brown/black color. (She is mostly white with brown ears and spots on her back) Does anyone have an idea what this could be?

If they were together a whole day and both rabbits are sexuellt mature and intact, Id say the risk that your bun is pregnant is very high. Rabbits are induced ovulators, meaning they ovulate when they have a sexual encounter.

My 1 year old bunny, Nico, has recently been in contact with a male. My friend gave me her rabbit and I thought they were the same gender until I realized I gendered Nico wrong and she is actually a female. I didn’t notice this until after they were having sex but I kept pulling them off of each other cause I thought they were just asserting d…[Read more]

From what I’ve read, catnip is safe for rabbits to have.

I’m not sure if it would make her/him more playful, as I never gave any to my rabbit haha

I’ve also heard that most rabbits tend to not like it (it has a strong scent), but if it works for your bun, that’s great! 😉

“army crawls” ! That sounds so cute. We say Bonnie acts like a clown fish when there’s a change… she goes a step out of her pen… then back in… then out… then back in… then eventually she comes out lol

Over time, especially onto a new carpet, I’m sure she’ll explore. You can try placing and serving food closer to the border of the two carpets. One of my rabbits is particularly anxious — she ‘army crawls’ whenever there is a change in environment. This includes leaving socks on the floor.

Hmmm, well it sounds like you have taken good steps, and the vaccine is very effective, so most likely everything will be fine with your bunny. There is of course some risk to it, but I don’t think you took an extreme risk since your bunny was already vaccinated. Are you in an area with a lot of active cases?

If you opt to take in an unvaccinated…[Read more]

Thank you for adopting her! How long has she been with you? It sounds like you are doing all the right things, and she prob just needs more time. 🙂

If she doesn’t already have one, she may appreciate having a cage, condo, or pen as her “home base”, even if it’s left open 24/7. I’ve noticed especially more timid buns like to have a “burrow” to…[Read more]

I’ve been a bunny parent for over a year and have wanted to play more of a role in rescuing and fostering bunnies that need it. I’m a few hours away from my nearest rescue, but I’ve kept myself available for fosters in need. Recently, I found a craigslist listing for a young flemish giant being kept outside in a cage in 100 degree heat. I asked my…[Read more]

Is catnip spray okay for bunnies? like if you just spray a little on a toy. Would it work on them to make them more energetic/playful? Is it harmful for them or no?

It’s made of catnip oil and distilled water.
