Haha I personally wouldn’t worry about eating regular feces… my bun (Masha), especially when she was a baby, would always do this. I think its something almost all buns do, then grow out of, as I never caught her eating them on a regular basis after maybe being 3-4 years old. 🤣🤣🤣

Yes, if it’s on the top of the foot then it was either overgrooming or something (like a fungal infection) causing the fur to fall out. Does the skin look flaky or irritated?

I’m surprised they won’t even let you drop her off so she can be seen between appointments when the vet has time. That’s what my vet office does if it’s an emergency and they are booked up.

Oh no! Poor Wick! Hmm… what about arthritis or joint degeneration? That would make the joint look fuzzy on x-rays. Perhaps he was putting all his weight on that finger and it caused too much stress on the bones/joints?

Eating regular poops… well, it happens. Particularly in younger bunnies. I wouldn’t be overly concerned. He may just be craving something or he just thinks eating them is a good idea.

I think it is just Bordetella? Bordetella bronchiseptica is in rabbit respiratory systems and typically doesn’t cause illness, but I believe if passed onto guinea pigs, they are more likely to be negatively impacted, rather than it being asymptomatic/harmless. @Wick care to elaborate on the Guinea pig and rabbit transmission? We don’t house them together at the rescue, but they share exercise pens without issues. Certain buns and guinea pigs don’t get along though, so it’s assessed individually.

That sounds really positive! It’s not normal for there to be that much aggression in a bonded pair but very normal to see that pattern in bonding sessions.  I’m interested to see how tonight goes! Fingers crossed for less fur pulling!

@SeparateWay , not sure of your full plan, but be sure that you are working with your bunnies in neutral territory. If they are interacting in your first bun’s “turf”, fights are a lot more likely and it can be much harder to bond properly. It’s also very important to prevent fighting.
