Junior rabbit pellets can have a lot more calcium in them because of the alfalfa (pellets are often the main source of calcium in a bun’s diet).

Kale, parsley, basil, and broccoli are high in calcium, so you could swap them out for a lower calcium veg (romaine, endive/chicory, or bok choy), or at least be sure they are in a rotation and not…[Read more]

Regarding pictures: If you upload the pics to the gallery in your profile, you can paste or link to those pics in your forum post.

Cecal dysbiosis is a lot more common than megapolis and a lot less serious. Mucus can mean the intestinal wall is irritated, or that there’s an overgrowth of the wrong gut bacteria. It’s often highly treatable with…[Read more]

Hey, two days ago I brought my 9 week old bunny Poka into the vet because she was having VERY misshapen poops and mucus either stringing to the poops and sometimes just mucus itself. she is acting normal, binkies, flopping and still eating hay and pellets and drinking water tons. the vet said he thinks she has worms and prescribed her 0.5 cc of…[Read more]

There are other grass hays that rabbits can eat, if you can’t find timothy. Horse hay is good for rabbits unless there’s a lot of alfalfa in it. Fresh grass that’s pesticide-free can be an alternative to hay.

It’s very important that your bun drinks a good amount of water.

Unfortunately, I can’t give a definitive answer because it’s not something I’ve gone through with a rabbit. I understand that you may not have a rabbit-experienced vet accessible to you, so hopefully more experienced members can provide more direct suggestions in that case.

If your rabbit is eating a lot of alfalfa hay and junior pellets and…[Read more]

I don’t have experience with bladder sludge, but I do believe this is inline with bladder sludge– that is a A LOT of excess calcium secretion.

I am curious about the diet, mainly the amount and type of hay your rabbit get. I think adjustments to reduce calcium intake and increase hay and water intake are important at this point. That may also…[Read more]

Yeah they’re reply made me feel more at ease. I guess I’m just a very anxious person because, he’s my first rabbit I ever had, I also monitor him very very closely so I probably overthink that something is wrong with him. I had him for about 8 months and a lot of vet visits, testing and medication in the first two months of having him :(. He has…[Read more]

I had a bunny get spayed and one get neutered. Its understandable to be nervous because theyre you’re babies and you don’t want them to be in pain. I remember being nervous then, and I would probs still be nervous in the future. I thought I wouldn’t be able to administer the pain meds but both my bunnies gobbled it up (I think it was fruit flavo…[Read more]

Aaw, thank you so much for the good vibes, wishes and reassurance, you guys. We didn’t get to see the vet yesterday but we managed to book an appointment for today. She was good as gold the whole time we were waiting. Seriously – she just sat in her carrier and waited patiently, munching on hay and cleaning her paws. It was so cute to watch. Her…[Read more]

Everyone gave great advice already, and it sounds like you’re perfectly on top of it! I’ll add that my bun does this as well. he’s a huge flopper and will pass out hard for a bit, shake himself awake and fall back  asleep. I usually just attribute it to the prey animal instinct in them (gotta stay vigilant!). I also think it’s similar to us jerki…[Read more]

Well, I would have been more concerned if it was around the nostrils. It never hurts to ask! And it doesn’t hurt to have a vet take a look if you’re unsure about something. I’m glad it seems to have resolved. 🙂

You could call the vet and ask? If the Baytril is for 14 days and he is doing well on it, there doesnt seem much point in a vet visit after 10 days.
