    Oh yes, I remember now!

The most common side effect of Baytril is diminished appetite. It’s still importsnt thst he finishes the course of antibiotics, but you can expect him to show reluctsnce to some types of food. As long as he eats hay and pellets he will be fine though, but if he stops esting altogether, you’ll have to syringe feed him.

    The…[Read more]

Hi! My 4 year old rabbit is recovering from cecal dysbiosis, I believe because I let him have banana. He seems to be feeling much better but this morning I found a cecotrope on the floor which was perfect looking. I offered it to him and he ate it (bunny families do such crazy things!). Should I be concerned about the fact that he left it on the…[Read more]

Vet said Walter is thin, she’s always been slight.

She eats well though, so any particular food suggestions?

Aventi GI paste and oral baytril, they told me about oral baytril making them lose their appetite and some side affects. I feel like he knew about the medication and trying to avoid it

As long as he is eating and pooping, it isn’t a big problem that he refuses vegs and fruit. What medication is he on?

I woke up and found out my rabbit ate his pee pad, he ate about a inch long and all the little things inside the pee pad were expose, and I found him flopping asleep. He had never done it before so I trusted him that he wouldn’t eat the pee pad, so I also try giving him his medication this morning and he’s been avoiding it (syringe), I thought it…[Read more]

A male neutering is a quick and straightforward affair that only rarely causes complications. I do understand your nervousness though – there are never any guarantees and it is after all our babies that are going under the knife.

You can use any sort of bedding that won’t stick to a wound, i e pretty much anything that isn’t wood chips or…[Read more]

Dropped Walter off for his neuter.

Just got a call.  Turns out Walter is a girl!

They felt she was a little small and had a slow heart rate, so they wanted to wait on the spay.

Hope I will eventually be able to bond two girls.

To my understanding, bugs can be carriers, so if one gets in that happens to be one, there is a risk. I personally would say just not do it to be extra cautionary, as I don’t think rabbits need the stroller ride for enrichment/engagement. There are plenty of things to do indoors to spice things up, like re-arrange furniture or create forts with…[Read more]

Hi everyone! I’ve been considering buying a stroller for my two rabbits. I want to take them outside in the summer to look around and maybe take some walks. However, I also know that there is a rabbit pandemic going on. Are rabbits at risk for RHDV if they are inside the stroller? Thanks!

It does sound like he will be ok. Give him extra attention, and keep an eye on his eating and pooping so you see everything is in good working order!

    Thank you Bam.

We’re just worried about leaving him at night in case he does pass away.

He seems to be a lot better today and has been happily hopping along the patio, I think letting him out at night time didn’t help.
He’s lying next to the bunny door stop in his run and he’s a lot calmer, and doesn’t seem to be grooming as much.

    I just hope…[Read more]

I’m not an expert in this area but I had a bunny neutered 4 years ago. I can’t remember how long recovery was, but my biggest difficulty was keeping him confined and not zooming or jumping on furniture (as I write in another post). The hope is they can figure out their limits themselves, but when they’re on pain meds they’re flying high and are…[Read more]

Aww keep trying! Give all the foods she normally loves but may limit because they’re foo sugary, high in calcium, etc. I usually also will bug my bun by shoving hay in his face until he nibbles fo push it away. Sometimes it’ll prompt him to start eating. She did just have surgery so she’s probs confused and out of it. My bunny didn’t eat at the…[Read more]

I’m very sorry you lost Smudge.

It sounds like you are doing all the right things with Fudge. Since rabbits find safety in numbers, he may be more cautious and fearful of his surroundings now when he is on his own. Rabbits dont like being alone. They like to have other individuals around them, because being prey animals, they always feel…[Read more]
