I guess he is eating okay, he won’t eat after I give him medication, but he does eat after an 3 hours. He use to be so exited to eat us lettuce, now he’s not as excited when I go feed him [ he is still very excited when I give him pellets] I have to put the lettuce in front of him and that’s when he would eat it. One of the reply’s said it just ma…[Read more]

They have been absolutely fine when they were indoors and then our black bunny just seemed to be really out of character when we put them in their new hutch. They were slowly introduced to the hutch and we’re fine for a week. They had such a close bond up until now and he is just acting out.

Perhaps the other bunny has “better” fur for nesting material purposes? It’s hard to say. As Wick suggested, it’s probably just a convenience thing. I would definitely be wary of these interactions. They could trigger a fight if the other bunny gets annoyed enough.

Oh gosh, that was a nasty fight! I agree that you’re going to have to take baby steps if you want to rebond them. Young bunnies tend to get along with everybody… then things can change when they become adults.

Overview-
I have two rabbits that I’ve been pre-bonding for 3+ months now, but now it’s summer, and I have time to bond them. I will start bonding in 5 days and I’ve decided 24/7 bonding is the best option for me. Currently, Franklin- Female is freeroam in my room while Nala- Female has a large 6ft by 6ft cage.
Personalities-
Franklin: She is…[Read more]

Is he doing OK without the paste? If he’s eating OK and the Baytril isn’t messing up his gut flora, then the GI paste may not be necessary. I’ve personally never had to use a probiotic alongside an antibiotic.

I assume both females are unspayed, based on the fact that one is nesting. Is this correct? Since the topic of intentional breeding is prohibited on these forums, there are not many users who will have experience with females going through nesting behavior (since many people have already spayed rabbits and this stops nesting behaviors).
My…[Read more]

It sounds like they need to go through a bonding process to establish a more secure relationship. They should not be put together unsupervised since such a violent fight occurred. Being from the same litter actually doesn’t too much in terms of ability to get along post-hormonal phase– rabbits will mate and attack their parents and siblings just…[Read more]

Hi everyone,
I’m new to this forum so apologies if I haven’t posted in the right place.
I have two female rabbits, both almost two years old. Quite often, my younger, less dominant female has made nests and has pulled out the other female’s fur to do so. (neither are extremely dominant, but the older female is significantly larger and stronger…[Read more]

@LittleLionMan – We actually visited a different vet this time, and I think we’re going to use him more often! I’m so relieved her health is perfect. I’ve been through so much with her throughout her life – she’s a fighter ♥
This is kind of a random question, but whenever I’ve bought her to multiple vets for different health issues, they’ve…[Read more]

Okay, so right now I having no problem giving him baytril. But for the aventi Gi paste a lot of difficulty giving it him. He will do anything to avoid the paste, I even got bite by him today. I was thinking of using 1ml syringe to put the paste in, but the syringe is to small for the paste to go in. Is there a way to give him the paste?

I have 2 male mini loop bunnies almost 8 months old. They are both from the same litter and were neutered about 3/4 months ago. When we got the bunnies they were kept in the kitchen and had free range of the kitchen and had a big cage that they were locked in at night. Now the weather is a lot better we decided to put them outside in a two story…[Read more] -

Thank you both! My thought was also that if coincided perfectly with nap time when he wouldn’t be eating much anyway. Thank you for the reassurance!

My personal experience with those adoption day speed-date days is that rabbits do fine and survive. Have food ready because your rabbit may adapt better than you expect. I think it helps that they occur during times rabbits are typically asleep so your rabbit usually wouldn’t get eating too too much at that time anyways.

Hi, I drove my rabbit 2 hrs each way, 2x to go speed dating. The speed dating was probably 3 hours and other than a few strands of hay he didn’t really eat or drink the entire time, either time. I don’t want to speak for all rabbits, but he was ok for 7 hours. Some days he goes 5 hours or more in the afternoon without getting up to eat or drink…[Read more]
