Hi
we just had another good long session- we tend to do the day time because that is when we have the time to be with them – but hoping to do a longer one – in to evening tomorrow.
Today I was so amused by Louie’s behaviour. He zoomed and jumped and span and flipped all over the pen for about 5 minutes- I have seen them both binky before but n…[Read more] -

I’m sorry to hear that☹️. It must be stressful for you. It could be gas, and that would make sense why his stomach is pressed against the floor. Try some stomach massages, I’ve found those very effective. You can find good ways to massage a buns stomach online. I often rock my bunny’s stomach back and forth gently on both sides when he’s…[Read more]

My rabbit Calliope has recently been showing some concerning signs that she is not altogether healthy but I am not sure what steps to take from here. She is still producing cecotropes and pooping but the poops are irregular in size and none (or very few) are the size and shape they are supposed to be. She is still eating, drinking, and acting…[Read more]

It’s not terrible if a rabbit takes an occasional tiny nibble of any of the rabbit safe litters, but you certainly don’t want them to be ingesting any measurable quantities. Besides the good suggestions already made here, you may want to try Oxbow Eco-Straw litter. It comes in a pellet form and has very little if any scent at all, so I don’t t…[Read more]

Hi!
Thank you so much. He was eating the lettuce I gave him, and I put his bowl of pellets in front of him. He ended up pooping just a little bit, which relieved me a great deal. Just wish I wasn’t relieved he pooped on my bed. XD

I was also going to recommend maybe using a grate or litter box screen. If you have a cheap source of hay, you can also just fill the box with lots of hay and forgo litter entirely (you just have to clean it more).

DanaNM replied to the topic Need advice on how to activate my midnight-active bun earlier in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 2 months ago
Young bunnies can be kind of all over the place, but over time they usually start to adjust to a more regular schedule. Bunnies do tend to be most active at night and morning, so giving him at least some exercise time morning and evening will prob be the best balance for both of you.

How is he doing now?
Rabbits will often sleep during the day, and may not eat or during that time. It’s also normal for buns to take some time to settle in to new places, but can be stressed from travel. Most buns eat and poop during the morning and evening, and over night. It’s important to know what’s normal for your bun. If he turns down…[Read more]

Hmm… well, I personally don’t know any other types of litter (especially if she likes eating it 😉 ) but maybe you could try one of those litter boxes with grated pens? It worked very well for me, as my bun loved to eat the fillings too 😂

Hey guys!
I have a 6 m old Holland lop and she’s absolutely the cutest. However I’ve had issues trying to find litter that works for her.
She’s very sensitive/allergic to any wooden litters and we’ve tried both shaving and pellets but she gets a wet nose from it. The vet recommended to try the carefresh paper shreds so we did. The problem is she…[Read more] -

OMG that IS hilarious! 😂😂😂 The first time my bun flopped I was super scared too because her eyes were open (I didn’t know then that they sleep with their eyes open) and she wasn’t moving (because she was sleeping 😂)

This little guy is Ember! (I was told by the place where I adopted him from that he was 8-9 months, however the vet said he looked to be 4-5 months). I’m not quite sure what type of rabbit he is (we’re fairly certain he’s a hotot dwarf mix based on research). Ember is with me at school, and just bravely and collectedly made a 6 hour trip…[Read more]

Hello everyone! I’m a somewhat new rabbit owner (had him about a month- been doing steady research every day!) to a delightful little fuzzball named Ember. He was found on the side of the road on April 17, 2021, and in a shelter for a month before I adopted him. They told me he was 8-9 months, but when I took him to the vet, she said he might be…[Read more]

@pinkiemarie – That’s awesome about the younger vets! We live in the middle east, so it’s really hard to find qualified vets that treat bunnies. I’m actually currently studying to become a rabbit-savvy vet, and I’m really serious about it. I can’t wait to save buns’ lives ♥
Update: OMG, I’m so seeing a difference with this hay diet. There are…[Read more]
