Thank you once again for your reply. The space is long enough so that they can be apart if they want to, but small enough so that they can always see each other and so that I can see both of them.
The chases are quite short and there is no negative reaction from Ori, he chases her and then she comes back close to him and flops or rests, that what…[Read more]

You mention her pain tolerance is low — was she and has she been receiving medication for pain management, such as meloxicam and/or tramadol? A rabbit who is in pain should be on pain meds consistently to better recovery.

My personal opinion is to let chases happen but be ready to intervene if they seem to escalate or are so frequent they are not being productive– it’s a slippery slope and also depends on how much room there is and everyone’s agility (including yours). If it is set up and factors are in the way that if a chase happens and you cannot stop it if it…[Read more]

Thank you for your answer.
Yes, the chasing is happening in the neutral territory. I didn’t know that binkies had that meaning too!
She just runs a little from him and then flops or stretches, hence why I think she’s not scared…she was also previously bonded to another rabbit, but for Daxter is the first time he’s been near another rabbit. I…[Read more]

1 – a spay/neuter is two to three visits typically (the procedure, the follow-up, and sometimes a pre-op visit beforehand). If you’re uncomfortable with the closest vet, perhaps you’d be willing to go to a much further one for just a couple visits?
2 – I don’t know the actual age boundary for viability of pregnancy, but yes, the sooner the better…[Read more]

Hahahahahaha! OMG, this is hilarious. This exact thing used to happen with my bun when she used to have one of those store cages. I had to literally take the thing apart, hose it down and dry it off afterwards. And then I had to rearrange everything… the toys and blankets and stuff. And after five minutes it’s a catastrophe all over again, and…[Read more]

I’ll mention that binkies are not exclusive to positive affect– binkying is also a flourishing movement to better escape and get away too. This interpretation doesn’t really change what your next steps are, but it can just be helpful for you to consider that Ori may be “playing hard to get” or is genuinely trying to evade a rabbit who is nipping…[Read more]

Hi! I have a male, neutered 1yr old bunny (Daxter), and we recently adopted a second bunny, a little 7 month old female named Ori (she’s spayed as well). We’ve been bonding them for 2 weeks now and so far it’s gone like this:
Week #1:
For the first week, we set up a large x-pen for Ori in a separate room, so that she could get comfortable and…[Read more]

Hey all! I am not new to house rabbits (my Olive is 11 years old now and he is certainly not my first bun) but I have never had a bonded pair. My older bun went to rabbit speed dating and was not considered a candidate to have a friend.
my husband rescues two baby bunnies from a terrible fate. They are 8 weeks old. they believe one is male,…[Read more]

Rabbits can sense things that we cannot, so it is possible that he has been picking up on something that you cannot perceive– in which case, there’s not much you can do but let him habituate to it. Regarding the environment, just make sure there is a place he considers a “safe space” he can go to if he is feeling scared.

My bunny is very healthy, mashallah. He is cheerful and energetic, eats and drinks well. But I can’t understand the reason for this soft poop. Sometimes decreasing, sometimes increasing. Actually increased after parasitic medication at the vet. Other times there was no increase. Now I’m starting to think that’s how it is built. Now I think hisa…[Read more]

Are there any noises or things that are spooking him potentially? Or do you think he’s just upset being penned up since he’s free roam?
Have you seen his posture when he does thumps? Usually if my bun is afraid he will be rigid, standing pretty stiff and up right. Typically I’ll look around to see what he’s looking at so I can help resolve…[Read more]

Some buns are prone to soft poop. Itcanhave to do withthe innervation of the intenstine. There is an assortment process where cecal poop and fecal prophet separated. In some buns, this function is slightly impaired. I had a bun like that, he had a daughter who was the same. He greatly improved on a good diet, but he was always prone.

I noticed something. No parasite vaccine for rabbits in Turkey. That’s why every 3 months, an internal-external parasite drug is made to Cookie. I noticed that after the parasite drug the soft poop of Cookie increased a lot. Other than that, in general, I sometimes see soft poop once a day. I wonder if this has something to do with parasitic drugs?
